WORCAM PLA Pearl is a high-quality PLA filament with a pearlescent (pearl) effect, intended for everyday 3D printing of both decorative and functional models. The pearlescent additive gives prints a subtle shine and depth, so even simple models look premium and representative.

Printing recommendations

Specific values may vary depending on the printer, nozzle and cooling – treat them as starting settings and fine-tune if necessary.

• Nozzle temperature: approx. 195–215 °C
• Bed temperature: 50–60 °C (with a well-lacquered / textured bed it is possible to print without heating)
• Print speed: 40–60 mm/s
• Cooling fan: 80–100 % after the first few layers
• Build surface: PEI, glass with glue, textured sheet or another common surface for PLA

For the best pearlescent effect, slightly higher layers (0,2–0,28 mm) and a rather higher temperature within the recommended range often work well, so that the pearlescent additive fuses nicely and creates a smooth, glossy surface.

Advantages of PLA material

• Very easy to print – ideal for beginners.
• Low shrinkage – less risk of deformation on larger models.
• Good detail accuracy – suitable for fine and visually demanding prints.
• No strong odor when printing.

Limitations of PLA

• Lower heat resistance – above approx. 55–60 °C it gradually loses strength (not suitable, for example, for a car dashboard in summer).
• Lower toughness compared to PETG/ABS – not recommended for highly stressed or flexible parts.
• Not suitable for long-term outdoor use – over time it becomes brittle and degrades under UV radiation and weathering.

Storage

To maintain consistent printing properties, store the filament:

• in a dry place and out of direct sunlight,
• ideally in a sealed bag or box with silica gel,
• at room temperature without large fluctuations.
