WORCAM PLA Red is a universal PLA filament in a rich red shade, designed for standard FDM/FFF 3D printers using a diameter of 1.75 mm. It uses the same material properties as other WORCAM PLA filaments – excellent dimensional stability, low shrinkage and very good mechanical properties for standard models. PLA (polylactide) is among the most commonly used materials for 3D printing. It is biodegradable (corn-starch based), easy to print with, and printing takes place without a strong odor, which is especially appreciated by home users and schools.

The parameters are based on the general recommendations for WORCAM PLA filament:

• Nozzle temperature: 195–220 °C
• Bed temperature: 50–60 °C
• Print speed: up to approx. 80 mm/s (depending on the printer and the required surface quality)
• Cooling: 80–100 % after the first layers
• Build plate: glass, PEI, textured sheet, with a suitable adhesive agent depending on the type of surface

For best results we recommend:

• checking the first-layer calibration,
• storing the filament in a dry place, ideally in a resealable box/bag with silica gel,
• always performing a nozzle purge when changing material.

Storage and care of the filament

PLA is less sensitive to moisture than some technical materials, but it is still recommended to:

• store the filament in a dry place and out of direct sunlight,
• after printing, return the spool to a resealable package or a dry box,
• as extended exposure to a humid environment may lead to a deterioration of surface quality and increased filament brittleness during printing.
