Prusament PLA Chalky Blue is a high-quality PLA filament manufactured directly by Prusa Research. It is a universal and very easy-to-print material suitable for both beginners and advanced users. The shade Chalky Blue is a soft, muted “chalky” blue color, ideal for designer models, decorations and visually attractive prototypes.

The filament is supplied on a spool with a weight of 1 kg, a diameter of 1,75 mm, and features top dimensional accuracy of ±0.02 mm, thanks to which you achieve consistent results even with long prints.

Due to its low temperature resistance (approx. up to 55–60 °C) and lower UV resistance, the filament is not recommended for long-term outdoor use or for parts exposed to higher temperatures (e.g. in a car in the sun).

• Recommended build plates: textured or smooth PEI sheet, glass, painter’s tape; glue stick can be used if needed

Mechanical and functional properties

• Hardness: high, the material is stiff but brittle – when overloaded it tends to break
• Temperature resistance: approx. up to 55–60 °C (above this temperature it starts to lose mechanical strength)
• Warping during printing: very low – suitable for large flat parts
• UV resistance: low – recommended primarily for indoor use
• Odor during printing: minimal to none

Tips for successful printing

• Before printing, carefully clean the build plate surface (isopropyl alcohol for PEI sheet).
• Use strong cooling of the model – it will improve the quality of details and bridges.
• For large and tall models, we recommend lower speeds at higher layers to achieve the best possible surface quality.
• When post-processing, use wet sanding to prevent local melting of the material due to friction.

Safety and storage

• Store in a dry place and away from direct sunlight, ideally in a sealed bag/box with silica gel.
• Even though PLA as a material is relatively food-safe, repeated contact of prints with food is not recommended due to micro-cracks on the surface where bacteria can accumulate.
