Product description

Product Description

Prusament PETG Chalky Blue 1kg is a top-tier PETG filament manufactured directly by Prusa Research. The entire manufacturing process is strictly controlled, guaranteeing an extraordinarily precise diameter with a tolerance of ±0.02 mm and excellent color consistency across the entire spool. The Chalky Blue shade will give your prints a subtle, elegant, and professional look.

PETG is a very tough material with good heat resistance around 68 °C and excellent layer adhesion. It is universally applicable but particularly suitable for mechanically stressed parts, holders, jigs, cases, and functional components for use at home and in the workshop.

Main Advantages of PETG Material

  • High toughness and strength – durable and long-lasting parts suitable for everyday use.
  • Good heat resistance (~68 °C) – suitable for parts that heat up more than common PLA prints.
  • Low warping – well-printable even for larger models without a printer enclosure.
  • Excellent layer adhesion – strong, almost waterproof prints.
  • Easier to print than ABS – no significant odor, undemanding of environmental conditions.

Why Choose Prusament PETG Chalky Blue

  • Premium quality from Prusa Research – filament developed and manufactured by the same company behind Original Prusa printers.
  • Inspection of every spool – parameters of every spool (diameter, ovality, deviations) are measured and published at prusament.com.
  • Consistent Chalky Blue color – uniform shade for entire series of parts or custom production.
  • Universal use – from mechanical parts to aesthetic models and design accessories.

Recommended Use

Prusament PETG Chalky Blue is particularly suitable for:

  • Mechanical components and functional parts – holders, stops, covers, grips, replacement plastic parts.
  • Workshop and garage parts – tool organizers, jigs, clamps, assembly fixtures.
  • Enclosures and electronic boxes – strong, durable, with a nice surface.
  • Design and decorative models – chalky blue color with a subtle appearance.
  • Outdoor use – better resistance to temperatures and environment than PLA (while respecting PETG limits).

Printing Settings (Guideline)

Specific values may vary slightly depending on the printer and conditions. For Original Prusa printers, a ready-made profile is available in PrusaSlicer.

  • Nozzle temperature: approx. 230–250 °C
  • Bed temperature: approx. 70–90 °C (typically 80 °C)
  • Recommended surface: smooth / textured PEI, glass with glue, or a suitable adhesive agent
  • Fan: ~50 % (standard profile for PETG)
  • Recommended layer height: from 0.15 mm and up

To reduce stringing with PETG, it is advisable to:

  • turn on retractions and fine-tune them,
  • do not print with unnecessarily overheated material,
  • alternatively, dry the filament before printing.

Tips for Successful Printing

  • Before printing, thoroughly clean the print surface (e.g., with isopropyl alcohol for PEI).
  • With PETG, adhesion to PEI sheets is very strong – it is recommended to use a thin film of glue (stick) as a separation layer to prevent surface damage.
  • For long-term storage, keep the filament dry (sealable box, silica gel) to reduce moisture absorption.
