Product description

Product description

Prusament PETG Anthracite Grey 1kg is a premium PETG filament developed and manufactured in-house at Prusa Research. Each batch is continuously measured and tested, ensuring exceptional dimensional accuracy of ±0,02 mm and consistent color tone. On the spool label, you will find a QR code that allows you to verify the detailed production parameters of the specific spool.

The Anthracite Grey shade is an elegant dark grey color suitable for both technical and aesthetic prints – from mechanically stressed parts and mounts and jigs to electronic enclosures or design models.

PETG combines PLA-like ease of printing with higher temperature resistance and toughness, making it an excellent choice for functional parts used in workshops, around the home, and outdoors.

Main advantages of PETG material

  • High temperature resistance – typically up to around 68 °C without significant deformation
  • High strength and toughness – suitable for mechanically stressed parts
  • Low warping and shrinkage – large objects can be printed successfully even without an enclosure
  • Excellent layer adhesion – also suitable for watertight applications
  • Easier sanding than PLA – the material is softer and less prone to melting
  • Almost odorless during printing

Disadvantages to keep in mind:

  • Possibility of stringing – well-dried filament and proper retraction settings help
  • Poorer bridging compared to PLA – sometimes requires more supports or slower printing
  • Not suitable for very small, highly detailed parts – fine details are generally better with PLA

Recommended applications

  • Functional and mechanical parts – mounts, brackets, jigs, replacement components
  • Printer and machine components – frame parts, covers, cable holders
  • Indoor and outdoor applications – thanks to the combination of temperature resistance and toughness
  • Watertight parts – containers, pipe adapters, enclosures for electronics (proper wall thickness required)
  • Design models in a technical, subtly dark shade

Print settings (manufacturer’s recommendation)

  • Nozzle temperature: 250 ± 10 °C
  • Bed temperature: 80 ± 10 °C
  • Recommended surface: textured or satin spring steel sheet (PEI), or another surface with good adhesion
  • Fan: approx. 50 % (standard preset for PETG)

Before printing we recommend:

  • thoroughly cleaning the print surface (isopropyl alcohol or according to the printer manufacturer’s recommendations),
  • drying the filament if it has been exposed to humidity for a longer time – PETG is more prone to stringing.

For a 2 kg spool you need to use a larger spool holder – the manufacturer provides a printable holder model for large spools.

Material and manufacturing quality

  • The filament is manufactured in the Czech Republic directly by Prusa Research.
  • Diameter 1,75 mm with a guaranteed tolerance of ± 0,02 mm ensures consistent flow and reliable printing even on long jobs.
  • Each spool is inspected in terms of diameter, color consistency, and mechanical properties.
  • The QR code on the spool allows for online verification of the production data of the specific spool.
