Product description

Prusa PLA+ MATT Silver 1kg

Prusa PLA+ MATT Silver is an improved PLA+ filament (polylactide) with a matte silver-gray appearance, manufactured in the Czech Republic. Compared to standard PLA, it offers better mechanical properties and a pleasant matte surface that better masks print layers.

Who is this filament suitable for?

  • Users of Original Prusa and other FDM printers looking for a reliable and easy-to-print material
  • Printing large and small models where low warping and detail precision are important
  • Designers and hobby creators who want an elegant matte silver surface without the gloss typical of regular PLA
  • Beginners and advanced users who appreciate a wide printing window and minimal tuning requirements

Main advantages of Prusa PLA+ MATT Silver

  • Easy printing – very good prints even with default PLA profiles
  • Improved layer adhesion and higher toughness compared to standard PLA
  • Higher viscosity – lower risk of nozzle clogging
  • Suitable for high printing speeds due to optimized printing temperatures
  • Low shrinkage and warping – ideal for larger objects
  • Matte silver-gray surface – professional appearance, less visible layers
  • Made in CZ – rigorous quality and diameter control

Recommended print settings

  • Nozzle temperature: 190–210 °C
  • Bed temperature: 50–60 °C
  • Recommended print surface: smooth, textured or satin PEI spring steel sheet

Before printing, we recommend thoroughly degreasing the bed (e.g., with isopropyl alcohol) and following the principles of print surface care.

Material uses and properties

Due to its low melting temperature and low thermal expansion, PLA+ is great for:

  • prototypes and design models
  • figures, models, decorations
  • precise technical parts without extreme mechanical or thermal stress

The material is:

  • hard and rigid, but at the same time more brittle – it can break under overload
  • less suitable for outdoor use and environments above approx. 60 °C (e.g., car interior in the sun)

Safety and post-processing

Although PLA is generally considered a material suitable for food contact, it is not recommended to drink or eat from finished prints long-term. Bacteria can accumulate in tiny surface irregularities over time. For better surface finishes, wet sanding is recommended to minimize local overheating and softening of the material.

Summary

Prusa PLA+ MATT Silver is a great choice for anyone looking for:

  • reliable and easy-to-print PLA+ with higher toughness
  • matte silver surface for aesthetically attractive models
  • filament with proven manufacturing quality and stable filament diameter

A perfect combination of user comfort, appearance, and print quality for everyday 3D printing.

Key features:
