Product description

Prof. Lab PLA Carbon Fiber Blue – blue PLA with carbon fiber for strong and design parts

Prof. Lab PLA Carbon Fiber Blue 1 kg is a special PLA filament reinforced with finely chopped carbon fibers. Thanks to this, it offers higher stiffness, strength, and resistance to deformation while maintaining the ease of printing typical for PLA.

The combination of carbon filler and deep blue color creates an elegant matte surface with a fine carbon texture, on which layers are less visible. The filament is suitable for desktop and professional FDM/FFF 3D printers.

Main advantages

  • Reinforced PLA with carbon fiber – higher stiffness and mechanical strength compared to standard PLA.
  • Matte blue carbon surface – attractive appearance, less visible layers, suitable for visual and functional parts.
  • Good dimensional stability – low shrinkage, minimal warping, easy printing without complex tuning.
  • Low weight – carbon fiber increases stiffness but maintains low material density.
  • Dimensional accuracy – 1.75 mm diameter with a narrow tolerance ensures smooth feeding and stable extrusion.
  • Compatible with most FDM/FFF printers – suitable for open and closed machines, ideally with a hardened nozzle.

Recommended use

This filament is ideal for:

  • Functional prototypes and technical parts – holders, jigs, brackets, covers, lightly loaded mechanical components.
  • RC models, drones and mockups – parts where a combination of stiffness, low weight, and a nice surface is useful.
  • Design and decorative objects – matte carbon appearance in blue for modern aesthetics.
  • Cases and electronics covers – strong and stiffer material with a professional look.

Warning: Carbon fiber is abrasive – for long-term printing, a hardened steel or ruby nozzle is recommended instead of a standard brass one.

Recommended print settings

Specific values may vary depending on the type of printer, flow rate, and cooling, but as a default setting, you can use:

  • Filament diameter: 1.75 mm
  • Nozzle temperature: approx. 200–220 °C
  • Bed temperature: approx. 50–60 °C (can also be printed at a lower temperature with good adhesion)
  • Print speed: approximately 40–70 mm/s
  • Cooling fan: medium to high – depending on model geometry
  • Recommended nozzle: 0.4–0.6 mm, ideally hardened due to carbon fiber abrasiveness

For best results, store the filament in a dry place (resealable bag, drybox) and potentially pre-dry it in a filament dryer before longer print jobs.
