Product description

PETG is a tough material – it is extremely durable and prints without odor. It prints very nicely with a similar surface quality to PLA. Thanks to low shrinkage during printing, this material is suitable for printing large objects. Unlike other materials, PETG is more resistant to acids and solvents, high and low temperatures. It is possible to heat shape a printed object from it or polish it with fire. This is another material that must be on your list immediately after PLA. PET-G can be quite harmful to the environment, so it is advisable to recycle it. Complete decomposition of PET-G takes decades.   Here are the main advantages of printing with this material and common properties of PETG filament:
  • Very durable, it is more flexible than PLA or ABS, but also a bit softer.
  • It is hard to break in half, so if you need an "unbreakable" case or cover, PETG trumps almost everything (except Nylon 12).
  • It has very low shrinkage and therefore no deformation occurs. Ideal for printing large things.
  • PETG is also very strong, not brittle, but can be scratched more easily than ABS, which is harder.
  • PETG is not very good for printing supports because it sticks so well. But because it sticks so well, layer adhesion is fantastic, so prints are strong and durable.
  • It also adheres well to the print bed, so be careful when removing it after printing.
  • It has high chemical resistance along with resistance to alkalis, acids, and water.
  • Printing is odorless.
PET-G Surface Finishing: It is advisable to first spray the print with filler (putty used in modeling) and then sand and repaint over and over again - until the mass is completely smooth, and finally spray with paint. Gluing PET-G: Polyurethane glue, superglue, and two-component epoxy are suitable materials for gluing PET-G. Recommended settings for PET-G printing: Commonly used nozzles are suitable. Diameters can be chosen according to the surface fineness we want to achieve or according to the layer thickness settings during printing. Printing temperature: 240 °C. Bed heating is not required, but for better material adhesion, we can heat the bed up to 75 °C. The printing filament is vacuum-packed with a moisture absorber and placed in a cardboard box. The plastic spools on which the filament is wound may differ in embossing or color. We strive to maintain 100% repeatability of winding and color.
