Product description
Product description
Bambu Lab PA6‑GF White 1 kg is a technical filament of the type Nylon 6 (PA6) reinforced with glass fibers, designed for the production of mechanically and thermally extremely resistant functional parts. Thanks to the combination of polyamide and glass fibers, it offers much higher stiffness, strength, and dimensional stability than common PA or PLA materials.
The filament is ideal for users who need reliable parts for demanding environments – from industrial jigs through technical components to parts in the automotive and mechanical engineering sectors.
Color: White
Material type: PA6 with glass fiber filler (Glass Fiber Reinforced Nylon 6)
Packaging: 1 kg on an original Bambu Lab spool
Key features
- Reinforced Nylon 6 with glass fibers – multiple times higher stiffness and strength compared to standard nylons.
- High heat resistance – heat deflection temperature (HDT) approx. 182 °C at 0,45 MPa, suitable for thermally demanding applications.
- Excellent dimensional stability – significantly reduced warping compared to common PA, suitable even for larger functional parts.
- Very good chemical resistance – resistant to oils, lubricants, and many solvents.
- Great fatigue and wear resistance – ideal for mechanically stressed parts, articulated elements, mounts, and jigs.
- Strong, functional surface – characteristic technical look with a reinforced surface thanks to the glass fiber filler.
- AMS compatibility – fully compatible with the Bambu Lab AMS system (dry storage is recommended),
AMS lite is not recommended. - Integrated RFID chip (on the Bambu Lab spool) – Bambu Lab printers automatically load the filament settings.
Recommended applications
Bambu Lab PA6‑GF White is particularly suitable for:
- Industrial and machine parts – jigs, clamping and measuring fixtures, mechanism covers.
- Automotive and motorcycle parts – mounts, brackets, parts near the engine, parts exposed to higher temperatures.
- Functional prototypes – mechanically tested components that must withstand real‑world use.
- Structural elements – technical joints, hinges, cable holders, mounting elements.
- Parts for more chemically demanding environments – applications where resistance to oils or lubricants is required.
Printing recommendations
To achieve optimal properties with PA6‑GF, it is recommended to:
- Use a wear‑resistant nozzle
- The ideal choice is a hardened steel or hardened nozzle ≥ 0,4 mm.
- A 0,2 mm nozzle is not compatible, a stainless steel nozzle is not recommended due to rapid wear.
- Print from well‑dried filament
- PA6‑GF strongly absorbs moisture from the environment.
- Recommended drying: 80 °C for 8–12 hours in a dryer or 90–100 °C for approx. 10–12 hours on a heated bed.
- Use an enclosed print chamber
- Better achievement of operating temperatures and reduced internal stresses in the material.
- More stable print quality for larger parts.
- Choice of build plate and adhesion
- Suitable are high‑temperature‑resistant surfaces (engineering / high‑temp plate).
- For larger parts, a brim is recommended and, if needed, a thin layer of glue to increase adhesion.
- Safety
- Print in a well‑ventilated area.
- Processing with glass fiber filler may slightly increase component wear, so regularly check the condition of the nozzle.
