Product description

Prusament TPU 95A Natural 500g (NFC)

Prusament TPU 95A is a professional flexible filament manufactured directly by Prusa Research. The Natural variant in 500 g packaging is ideal for functional, tough and wear-resistant parts that must remain flexible while also being highly durable.

Thanks to precisely controlled production, a solid TPU core based on ether diol and very low moisture absorption, this is a material that prints significantly easier than common TPU and is suitable even for long and repeated print runs.

Main advantages of TPU 95A material

  • Hardness 95A (shore) – soft and flexible in thin walls, strong and almost “indestructible” in thicker profiles
  • High wear and abrasion resistance – suitable for heavily stressed functional parts
  • Very low moisture absorption and high resistance to hydrolysis – fewer moisture-related issues, longer print life
  • Elasticity maintained even at low temperatures (down to around -50 °C)
  • High chemical resistance – especially to oils and lubricants
  • Low stringing and high print reliability compared to common TPU
  • Manufactured at Prusa Research, accuracy ±0.06 mm over the entire spool
  • Integrated NFC/OpenPrintTag label – material parameters stored directly in the spool (cross-ecosystem compatible)

Suitable applications

Prusament TPU 95A Natural is ideal for:

  • O-rings, seals, silent blocks, washers and stops
  • Flexible covers, protective cases, bumpers and edge protectors
  • Flexible parts of sports and outdoor equipment
  • Structural parts exposed to vibration, bending and repeated stress
  • Wheels, pulleys, stops, shock absorbers
  • Prototypes of soft and semi-flex parts (ergonomic handles, grips, sleeves)

The color Natural (natural, semi-transparent) is suitable both for functional parts and for visual inspection of the internal structure (infill, layers, possible bubbles, etc.).

Printing settings (indicative)

According to the recommendations of the manufacturer Prusa Research:

  • Nozzle temperature: approx. 230 ± 10 °C
  • Bed temperature: approx. 65 ± 10 °C
  • Recommended build surfaces:
    • Nylon PA sheet – most recommended surface
    • Satin spring steel sheet – a very good choice
    • PP / textured sheet – possible, but adhesion may be higher
  • Smooth PEI sheet: not recommended without a separation layer; use glue / separation layer, otherwise there is a risk of damaging the sheet
  • Print speed: rather low to medium (TPU is flexible, too high a speed can lead to overpressure and feeding errors)

Most modern printers with a direct extruder offer very good results with TPU 95A. With Bowden systems, you need to count on significantly lower speeds and careful tuning of retractions.

Tips for successful TPU printing

  • Storage: thanks to its low moisture absorption, the material is not as sensitive as other flexible filaments, but it is still advisable to store it in a dry environment. After prolonged exposure to high humidity, dry for approx. 4 hours at 60 °C if necessary.
  • Retraction: set shorter and slower retractions to avoid “chewing” of the filament in the feeder.
  • Infill vs. stiffness:
    • low infill and thin walls → very soft and flexible parts
    • higher infill and more perimeters → very tough and strong functional parts
  • Large models may tend to warp; brim, a higher bed temperature and a suitable surface (PA/Nylon, Satin) will help.

NFC / OpenPrintTag spool

This filament version is supplied on the new Prusament spool with an NFC/OpenPrintTag label:

  • Stores key information about the material (type, color, temperatures, remaining amount, etc.).
  • Can be read using the Prusa mobile app or compatible solutions.
  • Works completely offline, without the need for cloud services.
  • The tag is rewritable and an open standard – suitable for custom workflows as well.

This makes working with the filament more convenient and minimizes the risk of incorrect material settings.
