Product description
Prusament PLA Prusa Pro Green 1kg (NFC)
Prusament PLA Prusa Pro Green is a premium PLA filament manufactured directly by Prusa Research. The Prusa Pro Green shade is a rich, vivid green color used on original Prusa printers – it stands out perfectly on functional parts, covers, prototype models, and decorations.
Thanks to the integrated NFC chip (OpenPrintTag) embedded in the spool, your printer and applications can easily obtain all important information about the material. Prusament PLA is manufactured with a very strict tolerance of ±0,02 mm and careful control of diameter and color consistency, which leads to exceptionally consistent printing without the need for frequent corrections.
Key benefits
- Premium quality from Prusa Research – filament manufactured in‑house with closely monitored production parameters.
- Prusa Pro Green color – iconic green suitable for functional parts, prototypes, and design models.
- Integrated NFC chip (OpenPrintTag) – the spool carries direct material data that can be read by compatible devices (e.g. Prusa apps).
- High diameter accuracy ±0,02 mm – stable extrusion, consistent layers, and minimization of nozzle clogging.
- Very easy printing – PLA is ideal for beginners, it does not require an enclosed chamber or special preparation.
- Low shrinkage and warping – also suitable for large prints that do not warp or detach from the build plate.
- Suitable for detailed models – handles fine details, miniatures, figurines, and conceptual models well.
- More eco‑friendly choice – PLA is a bioplastic based on renewable raw materials (e.g. corn starch) and can be remelted.
Recommended use
Prusament PLA Prusa Pro Green is suitable for a wide range of applications:
- Prototypes and concepts – fast verification of shape and function of parts.
- Design and functional parts – electronics enclosures, holders, organizers, printer accessories.
- Models and figurines – tabletop games, miniatures, statues, decorations.
- Education and hobby – projects in schools, clubs, makerspaces, and home workshops.
On the other hand, it is not ideal for parts that are exposed long‑term to higher temperatures (above approx. 55–60 °C) or intense outdoor conditions – in such cases it is better to choose PETG or another technical material.
Print settings (approximate)
The parameters are based on the recommendations for Prusament PLA:
| Parameter | Recommended value |
|---|---|
| Nozzle temperature | approx. 215 °C (range 210–220 °C depending on printer) |
| Bed temperature | 50–60 °C |
| Recommended surface | Smooth PEI / Textured / Satin sheet |
| Layer height | 0,10–0,30 mm (for detail rather 0,10–0,15 mm) |
| Part cooling | 100 % fan (standard PLA settings) |
For the easiest start, we recommend using the default Prusament PLA profiles in PrusaSlicer or another slicer, where you only need to select the corresponding material.
Tips for successful printing
- Bed preparation – keep the build plate clean according to the printer manufacturer’s recommendations (isopropyl alcohol, or dish soap water for smooth PEI).
- First layer – pay attention to the first layer height; PLA adheres well, but does not tolerate an excessively “squished” first layer.
- Cooling – sufficient cooling is crucial for sharp details, bridges, and overhangs; PLA greatly benefits from it.
- Storage – PLA is less hygroscopic than some other materials, but it is still best stored in a dry place, ideally in a sealed box or bag with desiccant.
Post‑processing
- Sanding – PLA is harder and tends to locally melt during dry sanding, so wet sanding is recommended.
- Gluing – works well with most common cyanoacrylate glues; for larger surfaces, epoxy adhesives can also be used.
- Surface finishing – painting with acrylic paints, primer sprays, and varnishes improves appearance and can reduce absorbency and micro‑cracks on the surface.
