Prusament PLA Prusa Galaxy Black 1 kg (NFC) is a top-tier PLA filament from Prusa Research's own production. It combines maximum printing reliability, high diameter precision of ±0.02 mm, and the iconic color Prusa Galaxy Black – a deep black with glittering particles that give models a professional look.

The new generation of spools is equipped with an NFC tag according to the OpenPrintTag standard, which allows:

• quick recognition of the material by a compatible printer or application,
• storage of key parameters directly in the tag (works fully offline),
• more convenient filament management in multi-material and multi-color systems.

Recommended Use

• design and presentation models, covers, decorations,

Not suitable for parts exposed to high temperatures for long periods (e.g., in a car in direct sunlight) or intense mechanical stress.

Printing Settings (guidelines)

• Nozzle temperature: approx. 215 °C
• Bed temperature: 50–60 °C
• Recommended surface: smooth PEI, textured PEI, or satin sheet

Specific values may vary depending on the printer and conditions; it is recommended to start from the Prusament PLA profile and fine-tune if necessary.

Tips for Working with PLA

Sanding

For PLA, wet sanding is suitable. Without water, the plastic heats up quickly due to friction, can melt and deform locally, and the abrasive material gets easily clogged.

Gluing

PLA can be glued using commonly available adhesives – cyanoacrylate (super glue) is most frequently used. For some PLA blends, solvent welding with acetone may work, but it depends on the specific additives and color.
