Product description
Product description
Prusament PLA Pristine White 900g Refill (NFC Compatible) is a replacement winding of premium Prusament PLA filament without a plastic spool, designed to be mounted on original reusable Prusament spools. This significantly reduces the amount of plastic waste and saves space during storage and transport.
The Pristine White shade is a neutral, deep white color without a cream or gray tint, suitable for presentation prototypes, architectural models, functional samples, and design decorations where a perfectly clean white appearance is required.
The new packaging is NFC Compatible – the filament is wound on a core prepared for use with the new smart OpenPrintTag (NFC) system on redesigned Prusament spools. Once mounted on an NFC spool, you can easily identify the material (via the Prusa mobile app and in the future also compatible printers), including information about the material type and recommended print settings.
Key features
- Premium Prusament PLA manufactured in-house by Prusa Research with guaranteed high quality
- Diameter precision ±0.02 mm for reliable printing and minimal extrusion issues
- 900 g refill without a plastic spool – space saving and less waste
- NFC Compatible (OpenPrintTag) – once mounted on the new Prusament NFC spool you get a smart filament label
- Pristine White color – pure white, ideal for representative models, architecture, prototypes, and painting
- Easy to print – PLA is suitable for both beginners and advanced users, with low shrinkage and minimal warping
- High winding quality – careful winding minimizes the risk of tangling or crossovers
- More eco-friendly solution – reusable spool, less plastic, more efficient logistics
Recommended applications
- Visual models and prototypes (products, industrial design, packaging)
- Architectural and urban planning models in white color
- Figurines, decorations, and gift items with a smooth surface
- Large objects thanks to PLA’s low warping effect
- Color base for painting or further surface finishing
PLA is not suitable where higher heat resistance or toughness is required (e.g. car parts, outdoor exposure in direct sunlight). In such cases it is better to choose PETG, ASA, PC or other technical materials.
Printing settings (guideline)
The parameters are based on the manufacturer’s recommendations for Prusament PLA and common FDM printers:
- Filament diameter: 1,75 mm
- Nozzle temperature: approx. 215 °C (typical range 205–225 °C depending on printer and speed)
- Bed temperature: 50–60 °C
- Recommended print surface: smooth PEI, textured or satin sheet
- Cooling: 100 % after the first few layers (standard for PLA)
Always check the cleanliness of the print surface before printing (isopropyl alcohol, or washing as recommended by the printer manufacturer) to ensure optimal first layer adhesion.
Advantages and disadvantages of Prusament PLA
Advantages:
- Very easy to set up and print
- Excellent for small details as well as large volumes
- Low warping, suitable for large models
- A hard, dimensionally stable material at normal room temperature
- Wide compatibility with most desktop FDM/FFF printers
Disadvantages:
- Lower heat resistance (softens around 50–60 °C)
- Less tough than PETG or technical plastics
- More demanding post-processing when sanding compared to some other materials
Refill usage instructions
- Prepare an empty Prusament spool (new spool type with lockable sidewalls and NFC label, or the older refillable spool).
- Carefully disassemble the spool according to the manufacturer’s instructions (twisting and pulling the sidewalls away from the cardboard core).
- Slide the refill Prusament PLA Pristine White 900g onto the core of the spool.
- Snap the sidewalls of the spool back into the locked position.
- Check the filament unwinding direction to match your printer.
- After mounting on the new NFC spool, you can read or edit the NFC tag data (OpenPrintTag) using a compatible app.
Safety and storage
- Store in a dry place, ideally in a resealable bag with desiccant.
- Protect from direct sunlight and high temperatures.
- Ensure adequate ventilation during printing, even though PLA is among the less problematic materials in terms of odor and fumes.
