Product description

Product Description

Prusament PLA Pristine White 900g Refill (NFC Compatible) is a replacement coil of premium Prusament PLA filament without a plastic spool, designed for mounting on original reusable Prusament spools. This significantly reduces plastic waste and saves space during storage and transport.

The Pristine White shade is a neutral, deep white color without hints of cream or gray, suitable for presentation prototypes, architectural models, functional samples, and design decorations where a perfectly clean white appearance is required.

The new packaging is NFC Compatible – the filament is wound on a core ready for use with the new smart OpenPrintTag (NFC) system on redesigned Prusament spools. Once mounted on an NFC spool, you can easily identify the material (via the Prusa mobile app and in the future via compatible printers), including material type information and recommended print settings.

Key Features

  • Premium Prusament PLA manufactured in-house by Prusa Research with guaranteed high quality
  • Diameter accuracy ±0,02 mm for reliable printing and minimum extrusion issues
  • 900 g refill without a plastic spool – space saving and less waste
  • NFC Compatible (OpenPrintTag) – after mounting on a new Prusament spool with NFC, you get a smart filament tag
  • Pristine White color – pure white, ideal for representative models, architecture, prototypes, and painting
  • Easy printing – PLA is suitable for beginners and advanced users, with low shrinkage and minimal warping
  • High winding quality – careful winding minimizes the risk of tangling or overlapping threads
  • Eco-friendly solution – reusable spool, less plastic, more efficient logistics

Recommended Use

  • Visual models and prototypes (products, industrial design, packaging)
  • Architectural and urban models in white color
  • Figures, decorations, and gift items with a smooth surface
  • Large objects thanks to the low warping effect of PLA
  • Color base for painting or other surface treatments

PLA is not suitable where higher thermal resistance or toughness is required (e.g., car parts, outdoor exposure to direct sunlight). In such cases, it is advisable to choose PETG, ASA, PC, or other technical materials.

Print Settings (Guideline)

Parameters are based on manufacturer recommendations for Prusament PLA and standard FDM printers:

  • Filament diameter: 1,75 mm
  • Nozzle temperature: approx. 215 °C (usual range 205–225 °C depending on printer and speed)
  • Bed temperature: 50–60 °C
  • Recommended print surface: smooth PEI, textured, or satin sheet
  • Cooling: 100 % after the first few layers (standard for PLA)

Before printing, always check the cleanliness of the print bed (isopropyl alcohol, or washing according to the printer manufacturer's recommendation) to ensure optimal first layer adhesion.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Prusament PLA

Advantages:

  • Very easy setup and printing
  • Excellent for small details and large volumes
  • Low warping, suitable for large models
  • Hard, dimensionally stable material at normal room temperature
  • Wide compatibility with most desktop FDM/FFF printers

Disadvantages:

  • Lower thermal resistance (softens around 50–60 °C)
  • Less tough than PETG or technical plastics
  • More demanding post-processing when sanding compared to some other materials

  1. Prepare an empty Prusament spool (new type of spool with locking sides and NFC tag, or older detachable refill spool).
  2. Carefully disassemble the spool according to the manufacturer's instructions (twist and pull the sides away from the cardboard center).
  3. Slide the Prusament PLA Pristine White 900g refill onto the center of the spool.
  4. Snap the spool sides back into the locked position.
  5. Consult the filament unwinding direction to match your printer.
  6. After mounting on a new NFC spool, you can read or edit the NFC tag data (OpenPrintTag) using a compatible application.

Safety and Storage

  • Store in a dry place, ideally in a resealable bag with desiccant.
  • Protect from direct sunlight and high temperatures.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation during printing, although PLA is among the less problematic materials regarding odor and fumes.
