PLA is a hard but brittle material – it is not intended for heavily stressed or flexible mechanical parts, nor for use at higher temperatures (e.g. in a car in the sun).

Surface, bonding, and post-processing

  • The filament adheres well to a PEI sheet, glass, painter’s tape, or a bed with glue.
  • For bonding individual parts, cyanoacrylate (super glue) is recommended.
  • For sanding, wet sanding is suitable to prevent local overheating and smearing of the plastic.

Packaging and storage

  • The filament is wound on a solid plastic spool with an integrated NFC chip.
  • The spool is vacuum-packed with a silica gel bag for moisture protection.
  • For long-term storage, it is recommended to keep the spool in a resealable bag or box with a desiccant.
