Prusament PLA Opal Green is a high-quality PLA filament manufactured directly at Prusa Research. Thanks to strict production control with a precision of ±0.02 mm, it achieves excellent repeatability and a smooth surface of prints. The elegant opal green color is ideal for decorative models, figures, prototypes, and large prints.
The integrated NFC chip in the spool allows compatible Original Prusa printers (e.g., MK4/XL series) to automatically recognize the material type and facilitates correct print settings.

Before printing, we recommend thoroughly degreasing the bed (e.g., with isopropyl alcohol) according to Prusa Research recommendations.
PLA material properties
- Easy to print – suitable for beginners and advanced users
- Low deformation (warping) – ideal for larger models
- Hard but more brittle – tends to crack rather than bend under stress
- Lower temperature resistance – loss of strength above approximately 55–60 °C, unsuitable for a hot car or direct sun outdoors
- Low UV resistance – recommended mainly for indoor use
PLA is an ideal material for visual models, non-stressed parts, and decorations where appearance, accuracy, and simplicity of printing are important.
Post-processing and gluing
- Sanding: wet sanding is recommended – without water, local heating occurs, causing surface smearing and clogging of the abrasive.
- Gluing: PLA can be glued with many adhesives – most commonly superglue. Some PLA blends can be partially welded with acetone, but it depends on the specific shade and additives.
Safety and storage
- Store in a dry place, ideally in a resealable bag or box with silica gel.
- Protect from high temperatures and direct sunlight.
- Ensure basic room ventilation during printing.
