Prusament PLA Lipstick Red is a premium PLA filament developed and manufactured directly by Prusa Research / Prusa Polymers. Thanks to strict quality control, online monitoring of each spool production and guaranteed diameter accuracy, it is among the most reliable PLA materials on the market.

The shade Lipstick Red is a rich, vivid red reminiscent of lipstick – it looks luxurious and is perfect for design and presentation models, cosplay, figurines, logos or decorations.

This variant is a large 2kg spool – ideal for long prints, serial production or large‑volume projects.

PLA is a harder but also more brittle material, therefore it is perfect for visual models, but not for parts subjected to mechanical or thermal stress.

Recommended applications

It is not recommended for parts exposed to high temperatures (above approx. 55–60 °C) or long‑term outdoor use – PLA has lower thermal and UV resistance.

Recommended printing parameters

• Material: PLA
• Recommended nozzle temperature: approx. 210 ± 10 °C
• Recommended bed temperature: 40–60 °C
• Part cooling: 100 % (strong cooling)
• Recommended surface: PEI, glass, tape, glue (depending on printer)
• Recommended print speed: up to approx. 200 mm/s (depending on printer and settings)

Before printing, always ensure a clean bed surface (isopropyl alcohol / dish‑soap water depending on the bed type).

Post‑processing (finishing)

• Sanding: wet sanding is recommended – without water PLA quickly softens from friction and may deform
• Gluing: suitable are cyanoacrylate glues (super glue), or other universal plastic adhesives
• Joining parts: thanks to precise printing, parts can be well assembled, screwed or glued

Tip: 2kg spool and holder

The 2kg Prusament spool is larger and heavier than a standard 1kg spool, therefore:

• it does not fit on the standard spool holder of many printers,
• the manufacturer recommends printing a special holder for the 2kg spool (2kg spool holder), or using your own robust holder or a floor stand on bearings.

Thanks to the larger spool you get much longer uninterrupted printing and less frequent filament changes.
