Prusament PLA Galaxy Silver 1kg (NFC) is a high-quality PLA filament with a characteristic sparkling galaxy effect. The silver base color is complemented by fine glitter that creates a starry-sky effect on the print. This appearance is popular for figurines, cosplay accessories, decorations, designer models, electronics enclosures, and presentation prototypes.
The filament is manufactured directly by Prusa Research on in-house lines, where the diameter and ovality of every spool are carefully measured. The result is a diameter dimensional tolerance of ±0.02 mm, ensuring stable extrusion, minimal flow fluctuation, and reliable printing even for long models. PLA is generally very easy to print and Galaxy Silver is no exception – it works well even on open printers without an enclosed chamber.
This version includes an integrated NFC chip, which enables automatic filament type recognition and display of spool information on compatible Original Prusa 3D printers.

- Bed temperature: approx. 50–60 °C
- Print speed: typically 40–60 mm/s (depending on printer type)
- Cooling: high (the fan runs almost at full power, especially for detailed models)
- Build plate: smooth PEI, textured PEI, or another common surface for PLA; a clean surface is important (degreased with isopropanol, etc.)
