• Cooling: 100 % part fan – for clean details and bridging
• Recommended surfaces: smooth, textured or satin PEI sheet, or glass with a suitable adhesive agent

For best results, it is recommended to use ready-made Prusament PLA profiles in PrusaSlicer or a similar slicer and perform fine-tuning according to the specific printer.

Material Properties

• Material: PLA (polylactide)
• Hard and rigid material, but relatively brittle – not suitable for impacts and bending
• Low temperature resistance – mechanical properties deteriorate above approx. 55–60 °C
• Low shrinkage – minimal warping and layer delamination
• No significant odor during printing
• Suitable for precise details and smooth surfaces

PLA is generally not ideal for outdoor use (lower UV resistance, low temperature resistance) and for applications exposed to higher temperatures (e.g., in a car in the sun).

Tips for Printing and Processing

• Keep the print surface clean – ideally clean with isopropyl alcohol on a cold or slightly warm bed.
• For higher part strength, increase the number of perimeters rather than the infill itself – most of the strength comes from the perimeter walls.
• Postprocessing: PLA is harder to sand dry – wet sanding is recommended for a smoother surface.
• Joining multiple parts is easy using cyanoacrylate glues (superglues) or suitable epoxies.

Safety and Storage

• Store in a dry place, ideally in a closed bag or box with desiccant to limit moisture absorption.
• Although PLA as a material is generally considered relatively safe, it is not recommended to use prints in direct contact with food long-term without a suitable surface treatment.
