Prusament PLA Galaxy Purple is a premium PLA filament manufactured directly by Prusa Research on its own production lines with strict quality control of every spool. The Galaxy Purple variant offers a distinct purple color with fine metallic glitters that give prints an exclusive look.

The integrated NFC chip allows compatible Prusa printers to automatically load information about the filament (material type, color, recommended temperatures, remaining amount, etc.), which simplifies print preparation and minimizes setting errors.

  • Heat resistance: up to approx. 55–60 °C – above this temperature it loses mechanical strength
  • Suitable mainly for indoor use (lower resistance to UV radiation and higher temperatures)

Practical Printing Tips

  • For the first layer, use a clean bed (IPA/ethanol for smooth PEI, or glue for specific surfaces as recommended by the printer manufacturer).
  • For a better glitter appearance, print with a higher layer height (e.g., 0.20–0.25 mm) – the effect tends to be more pronounced.
  • For mechanically stressed parts, print with a higher number of perimeters and infill (e.g., 3 perimeters, 20–30 % infill).
