Prusament PLA Galaxy Green 1kg (NFC) is a top-tier PLA filament from Prusa Research's own production. It combines a deep dark green color with a fine gold "galaxy" glitter, so the prints look luxurious and effective even without further surface finishing.

Prusament is wound and inspected in Prusa Polymers' internal production. Each spool has a guaranteed diameter accuracy of ±0.02 mm and detailed quality control – parameters of a specific spool can be checked after scanning the QR code on prusament.com. The filament is wound on a newly designed spool with an NFC tag of the OpenPrintTag standard, which facilitates material identification and print profile settings.

Galaxy Green belongs to the so-called "galaxy" colors – a dark base complemented by glitters suppresses the visibility of layers and small imperfections, making it ideal for decorations, figures, cosplay parts, design, and presentation models.

Print Settings (Recommendations)

Typical recommendations for Prusament PLA (may vary slightly depending on the printer and conditions):

• Nozzle temperature: approx. 210–220 °C
• Heatbed temperature: approx. 50–60 °C
• Fan: 100% (strong part cooling)
• Layer height: usually 0.15–0.20 mm (finer layers highlight details and glitter)
• Print speed: medium to higher, PLA allows faster printing than PETG

For best adhesion, we recommend a clean PEI sheet (smooth or textured), cleaned according to Prusa's recommendations (not just IPA, but occasionally washing with dish soap water).

PLA Material Properties

• Easy printing – suitable as the first filament for beginners
• Low warping – suitable even for larger models
• Good hardness and stiffness, but at the same time higher brittleness (can break without significant deformation)
• Lower temperature resistance – loss of mechanical properties above approximately 55–60 °C
• Unsuitable for long-term outdoor use (lower UV and temperature resistance)

PLA is ideal for concepts, models, decorations, miniatures, figures, jewelry, prototypes, and low-wear parts.

Ecology and Spool

The new generation of Prusament spools emphasizes practicality and sustainability:

• Redesigned spool with a lock – easy disassembly, replacement, or refilling of filament
• Stable during drying – stays firmly secured even at higher temperatures in the dryer

Safety and Post-processing

• Sanding: wet sanding is recommended, otherwise local melting and clogging of the abrasive occurs
• Gluing: superglue is suitable; sometimes chemical gluing can be used depending on the specific color and composition
• Food contact: although PLA material itself is generally considered relatively safe, due to the layer structure and potential bacteria buildup, repeated direct contact with food is not recommended without proper surface treatment
