Prusament PLA Chalky Blue 1kg (NFC) is a premium PLA filament manufactured directly by Prusa Research. It is a special matte pastel blue shade “Chalky Blue” that gives your prints an elegant, subtle, non-glossy appearance.

Thanks to extremely precise manufacturing with a tolerance of ±0,02 mm and strict output control, Prusament PLA is ideal for reliable everyday printing, detailed models, prototypes, decorations, and functional parts for indoor use.

This variant contains an NFC chip integrated in the spool, so supported Original Prusa printers can automatically recognize it and load the material profile.

* We always recommend using the preset Prusament PLA profile in PrusaSlicer or another slicer and then fine-tuning slightly according to your specific printer and conditions.

PLA material properties

• Hard but a more brittle material – not suitable for highly stressed and frequently bent parts
• Low heat resistance – mechanical properties drop significantly above approx. 55–60 °C
• Low shrinkage and warping, very stable printing
• Not ideal for long-term outdoor use (lower UV and thermal resistance)

PLA is an excellent choice for everyday printing, prototyping, models, and decorations, where appearance, dimensional accuracy, and ease of printing are the priorities.

Printing tips

• Before printing, clean the build plate (e.g. with isopropyl alcohol) according to the printer manufacturer’s recommendations.
• Use the preset Prusament PLA profile in your slicer (e.g. PrusaSlicer) for best results.
• For problematic edges and first-layer adhesion you can use a glue stick or another suitable adhesive aid depending on the type of print surface.
• Do not expose finished PLA prints to elevated temperatures for long periods (e.g. leaving them in a car in the sun).
