Prusament PLA Blend My Silverness 1kg (NFC) is a top-quality PLA filament manufactured directly by Prusa Research. It is a special blend variant in a metallic silver color with a silky gloss that gives your prints a luxurious look and highlights details.

The new Prusament spools are equipped with an NFC tag in the OpenPrintTag standard, so the printer (or a phone app) can easily read information about the material – filament type, color, recommended temperatures, and other data stored directly in the NFC tag. This makes it easier to set up prints correctly, manage inventory, and work with multi-material systems.

PLA is one of the easiest materials to print. Thanks to its minimal shrinkage and zero warping, it is great for both beginners and advanced users and is suitable for large models, decorations, figurines, design prototypes, and visual parts where high heat resistance is not required.

It is not recommended for parts exposed to high temperatures (e.g. in a car in the sun) or for highly stressed mechanical parts – in these cases PETG, ASA or other technical materials are more suitable.

Print settings (approximate)

• Nozzle temperature: approx. 215 °C (range 210–220 °C depending on the printer and speed)
• Bed temperature: 50–60 °C
• Recommended surface: smooth / textured / satin PEI sheet
• Cooling: 100 % part cooling

Always check and clean the print surface before printing according to the printer manufacturer’s recommendations.

Tips for successful printing

• Print in a well-ventilated room, even though PLA produces almost no odor
• To achieve the best appearance of the metallic effect, use a lower layer height (0,10–0,20 mm)
• For post-processing, use wet sanding – without water the filament overheats locally and may deform
• To glue PLA parts, use cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); some PLA blends can also be bonded with acetone, but this depends on the specific shade and additives

Safety and storage

• Store in a dry place, ideally in a resealable bag or box with silica gel
• Protect from direct sunlight and higher temperatures
• Although PLA as a material is generally considered safe, repeated contact of prints with food is not recommended, as microcracks can form between layers where bacteria can accumulate
