Product description

Product Description

Prusament PETG Yellow Gold 1 kg (NFC) is a premium PETG filament manufactured in‑house by Prusa Research. Each spool undergoes precise quality control, including a diameter tolerance of ±0.02 mm and manufacturing batch tracking, so you get consistent print results throughout the entire winding. The Yellow Gold shade is a rich golden yellow color with an attractive gloss – ideal for decorative items, cosplay parts, prototypes, and functional parts meant to catch the eye. An integrated NFC chip (Near Field Communication) allows supported Original Prusa printers (e.g., MK4, MK3.9, etc.) to automatically load filament information (material type, color, recommended settings), facilitating everyday printing tasks.

Key Features

  • PETG Material – high toughness and impact resistance
  • Good Heat Resistance – suitable for functional and mechanically stressed parts
  • Low Shrinkage and Minimal Warping – reliable printing of even larger objects
  • Excellent Interlayer Adhesion – also suitable for waterproof and exterior applications
  • Made in the Czech Republic, in‑house by Prusa Research – quality control from granules to finished spool
  • Diameter Tolerance ±0.02 mm – stable flow and accurate print dimensions
  • Integrated NFC Chip – automatic filament identification on compatible printers
  • Golden Yellow Shade Yellow Gold – attractive, glossy decorative look
  • Transparent Spool with Winding Preview – easy checking of remaining quantity

Recommended Use

Prusament PETG Yellow Gold is a versatile filament especially suitable for:
  • Mechanical and Functional Parts – brackets, mounts, jigs, covers, structural elements
  • Parts for Indoor and Outdoor Use – thanks to good thermal and chemical resistance
  • Design and Decorative Objects – statues, figures, gifts, trophies, logos, signs
  • Cosplay and Prop Replicas – gold details, ornaments, costume parts
  • Prototyping – durable prototypes that can be mechanically tested in practice

Printing Properties and Settings

PETG is known as a material that combines the strength and durability of ABS with printing ease similar to PLA. Typical Printing Settings (Guideline):
  • Nozzle Temperature: ~ 230–250 °C
  • Heatbed Temperature: ~ 70–90 °C (Prusa recommends approx. 80 °C)
  • Enclosure: not required – low warping
When printing PETG, some slight stringing is to be expected. Using the pre-set Prusament PETG profiles in PrusaSlicer significantly simplifies retraction and temperature settings, eliminating most issues. Any fine "hairs" can be easily removed with a brief application of a heat gun. Always ensure the cleanliness of the print surface as per Prusa Research recommendations – with PETG, it is particularly important to use the correct surface and a potential separation layer (e.g., glue stick) to prevent overly strong adhesion to the bed.

Advantages of PETG over PLA

  • Higher Heat Resistance – prints do not deform as easily in heat
  • Greater Toughness and Impact Resistance
  • Better Chemical Resistance (e.g., against certain cleaning agents)
  • Better Suited for Mechanically Stressed and Functional Parts
On the other hand, one must expect slightly worse details and bridging compared to PLA – for technical parts, this usually doesn't matter, but for small miniatures, this factor should be considered.

Packaging and Quality Tracking

Every Prusament spool is:
  • vacuum-packed with desiccant,
  • wound with emphasis on perfect layering without tangling,
  • equipped with a manufacturing batch label – allowing you to look up detailed parameters of the specific spool (manufacturing log, tolerance measurements, etc.) on the Prusament website.
All this ensures repeatable and professional results for home users, companies, and professional 3D printing studios.
