Prusament PETG V0 Natural is a premium self-extinguishing PETG filament from Prusa Research, intended for safe printing of enclosures and plastic parts for electronics and other technical components where there is a risk of fire.

As one of the few filaments on the market, it has UL certification (UL94 V0), which makes it an ideal material both for hobby electronics and for professional prototypes in industry where compliance with fire standards must be documented.

The material is based on classic Prusament PETG, so it retains good toughness, strength and heat resistance, but in addition contains self-extinguishing additives. Thanks to its low shrinkage, prints hardly warp, making it suitable even for larger parts.

Limitations and recommendations

• Hygroscopic material – it is recommended to dry the filament before printing (approx. 6 h at ~55 °C)
• Not suitable for very small parts – possible formation of "stringing"
• Weaker bridging performance – requires thoughtful use of supports
• Strong adhesion to the print surface – requires caution when removing prints
• Cannot be smoothed with acetone like ABS
• More sensitive to scratching than PLA

Recommended print settings

Specific values may vary depending on the printer, nozzle and ambient conditions. The parameters below are based on the recommendations from Prusa Research.

Temperatures

• Nozzle temperature: approx. 230 ± 10 °C
• Bed temperature: approx. 80 ± 10 °C

Printing conditions

• Print difficulty: low to medium
• Recommended layer height: from 0,15 mm and higher
• Print speed: relatively high (PETG is suitable even for faster printing)
• Fan: a cooling fan is recommended (approx. 50 %); for maximum strength, you can print without a fan or with limited cooling

Print surface and adhesion

• Recommended surfaces:
  • PEI smooth/textured sheet
  • glass plate (optionally with glue)
  • painter's tape
• Keep the print surface clean and degreased before printing.

Filament drying

• PETG V0 is highly hygroscopic, recommended:
  • store in a sealed drybox with desiccant
  • or dry for 6 h at ~55 °C before important prints

• Shade: Natural (natural, semi-transparent appearance)
• Surface: glossy, smooth
