Product description

Prusament PETG Urban Grey 2kg (NFC)

Premium filament Prusament PETG Urban Grey from Prusa Polymers' own production is among the most reliable PETG materials for FDM 3D printing. The Urban Grey shade is ideal for technical prototypes, functional components, and design models where a neutral, elegant look without distracting color reflections stands out.

This variant is wound on a 2kg spool with an NFC chip, allowing compatible Original Prusa printers to automatically recognize the filament type and track the remaining amount.

Key Features

  • PETG Material – a versatile and very popular filament for functional parts
  • Urban Grey Color – neutral technical grey suitable for prototypes, covers, brackets, and mechanical components
  • Large 2kg Spool – less frequent changes, ideal for long prints and series production
  • NFC Chip in the Spool – easy filament identification and consumption tracking on supported Original Prusa printers
  • High Heat Resistance (approx. 68 °C) – handles heat and stress better compared to PLA
  • High Toughness and Strength – suitable for mechanically stressed parts
  • Low Warping and Shrinkage – reliable printing even of larger objects without an enclosed chamber
  • Great Layer Bonding – suitable for watertight prints and functional parts
  • Glossy and Smooth Surface – representative appearance without demanding post-processing
  • Odourless Printing – suitable for home and office environments

Recommended Use

  • Mechanical and Functional Parts Fixtures, brackets, assembly jigs, covers, stops, jointed parts, and other mechanically stressed components.
  • Holders and Organizers Tool organizers, cable holders, hanging systems for the workshop or garage.
  • Indoor and Outdoor Parts Thanks to good temperature resistance and toughness, the filament is also suitable for less exposed outdoor parts.
  • Watertight and Container Applications With correct print settings and good layer fusion, very good watertightness can be achieved.

Print Settings (Manufacturer's Recommendation)

Specific values may vary by printer; always use the official Prusament PETG profile for your printer.

  • Nozzle Temperature: approx. 250 ± 10 °C
  • Heatbed Temperature: approx. 80 ± 10 °C
  • Print Speed: suitable for faster printing (typically up to ~200 mm/s for modern printers with an appropriate profile)
  • Cooling: fan approx. 50 %, depending on model geometry
  • Print Surface: PEI (smooth, powder-coated, satin), or glass with a suitable adhesive agent

Advantages and Disadvantages of Prusament PETG

Advantages:

  • High thermal and mechanical resistance
  • Low warping and minimal deformation during printing
  • Great for large objects without an enclosed chamber
  • High toughness, parts are harder to break
  • Odourless printing
  • Glossy and smooth print surface
  • Low moisture absorption and recyclability of the material

Disadvantages:

  • Not ideal for very fine details
  • Prone to stringing – adjusting retractions and temperature often helps
  • Poorer bridging than PLA – supports should be considered
  • Very strong adhesion to the print surface – caution is required when removing the print to avoid surface damage

Who is Prusament PETG Urban Grey Suitable For

  • Owners of Original Prusa printers (and other FDM printers) who want to use the convenience of NFC spools
  • Users looking for a reliable material for functional and mechanical parts
  • Developers and companies printing prototypes and small series that appreciate the 2kg packaging
  • Enthusiasts wanting consistent quality, precise filament diameter, and proven print profiles
