Product description

Prusament PETG Ultramarine Blue Transparent 1kg

Prusament PETG Ultramarine Blue Transparent is a premium PETG filament manufactured in‑house by Prusa Research. Each spool is carefully inspected during production and Prusa guarantees a filament diameter of 1,75 mm with a tolerance of ±0,02 mm, ensuring stable flow, reliable printing, and minimal differences between individual batches.

The semi-transparent ultramarine blue color gives prints an elegant, saturated, and at the same time “deep” appearance – an excellent choice for designer models, functional parts visible at first glance, and illuminated elements.

PETG material properties

PETG is among the most popular materials for FDM/FFF 3D printing. It combines easy printing similar to PLA with much better mechanical and heat resistance.

Main advantages of PETG:

  • excellent layer adhesion – suitable for watertight and high‑strength parts
  • higher heat resistance than PLA – suitable for indoor and outdoor use
  • low shrinkage and minimal warping when printing even larger objects
  • toughness and flexibility – parts are not as brittle as from PLA
  • suitable for functional components, mounts, covers, jigs, parts for workshop and household

The semi‑transparent Ultramarine Blue variant additionally allows for a striking translucent effect, especially when printing thinner walls or in combination with backlighting.

Key advantages of Prusament PETG Ultramarine Blue

  • Premium filament from Prusa Research – consistent quality, in‑house production
  • Diameter 1,75 mm with accuracy ±0,02 mm – stable extrusion and lower risk of nozzle clogging
  • Semi-transparent ultramarine blue – attractive, saturated blue coloring with a depth effect
  • Excellent layer adhesion – suitable for demanding and mechanically stressed parts
  • Low warping – easy printing of larger objects even without an enclosed chamber
  • Good resistance to higher temperatures (typically around 70–80 °C for finished prints)
  • Ideal for functional, technical, and designer models
  • Verified and ready‑to‑use profile settings in PrusaSlicer

Recommended applications

Prusament PETG Ultramarine Blue Transparent is especially suitable for:

  • mounts, holders, brackets, jigs
  • electronics enclosures, boxes, mounting frames
  • parts for household and workshop (organizers, hooks, tool holders)
  • outdoor components exposed to sun and weather (with reasonable protection)
  • aesthetic and designer models requiring a semi‑transparent blue effect
  • 3D printer parts and accessories where higher strength and toughness are needed

Printing settings (guideline)

According to Prusa Research recommendations for Prusament PETG:

  • Nozzle temperature: approx. 250 °C ± 10 °C
  • Bed temperature: approx. 80 °C ± 10 °C
  • Recommended bed surface: textured or satin steel sheet, or PEI

For beginners, ready‑made profiles for Prusament PETG are available in PrusaSlicer, so you only need to select the appropriate material and printer – retraction, temperature, and speed parameters are pre‑configured.

Tips for printing PETG

  • PETG tends to bubble more and create stringing – well‑dried filament and properly tuned retraction help.
  • Before printing, clean the bed surface with isopropyl alcohol; on smooth PEI, a separation layer (e.g. glue stick) may be useful so that parts do not stick too strongly.
  • After printing, fine strings can be removed with a heat gun by briefly and carefully heating the surface.

Technical parameters

  • Material: PETG (glycol‑modified polyethylene terephthalate)
  • Manufacturer: Prusa Research (Prusament series)
  • Color: Ultramarine Blue Transparent (semi‑transparent ultramarine blue)
  • Filament diameter: 1,75 mm
  • Diameter tolerance: ±0,02 mm
  • Filament weight on spool: 1 kg
  • Recommended nozzle temperature: 250 °C ± 10 °C
  • Recommended bed temperature: 80 °C ± 10 °C
  • Recommended print surface: textured / satin steel sheet, PEI

This filament is fully compatible with most FDM/FFF 3D printers that use 1,75mm filament and support nozzle temperatures around 250 °C.
