Prusament PETG Ultramarine Blue 1kg (NFC) is a top-tier PETG filament manufactured directly at Prusa Research on fully controlled production lines. Each spool is precision-wound, with strictly monitored diameter and documented quality – parameters of a specific spool can be looked up by batch on the Prusament portal.

PETG combines the advantages of PLA (easy printing) and ABS (higher toughness and heat resistance). In the Ultramarine Blue shade, you get a rich, deep blue color with a very nice, slightly glossy surface, suitable for both functional parts and representative prototypes and design.

NFC spool – smarter work with filament

This variant is supplied on the new NFC spool with OpenPrintTag technology:

  • integrated NFC chip in the spool
  • automatic identification of material and its profile on compatible Original Prusa printers (e.g., newer generations with NFC reader)
  • facilitates correct profile selection, remaining amount tracking, and material management

PETG material properties

PETG is popular for functional and technically stressed prints where there is a need for:

  • Heatbed temperature: approx. 80–90 °C
  • Recommended surface: textured or satin spring steel sheet (proper surface preparation is necessary for smooth sheets)
  • Cooling: medium, according to the PETG profile recommendation (excessive cooling can worsen layer adhesion)

For optimal results, use official profiles for Prusament PETG in PrusaSlicer or other slicers where these profiles are available.

Bed preparation and printing tips

  • Thoroughly clean the print sheet before printing (e.g., with isopropyl alcohol on a cooled sheet as recommended by Prusa Research).
  • For smooth PEI sheets, it is advisable to use a separation layer (e.g., glue stick) to prevent surface damage from excessive PETG adhesion.
  • PETG is more moisture-sensitive than PLA – keep it dry (sealable boxes, silica gel), or dry it before printing if necessary.
  • For a clean surface and to minimize "stringing" or nozzle buildup, it is advisable to fine-tune retractions and infill speeds.

The filament is optimized for:
