Prusament PETG Ultraglow Green 800g (NFC)
Prusament PETG Ultraglow Green is a premium PETG filament with an integrated NFC chip and an exceptionally strong long-lasting glow in the dark. Thanks to its precise diameter, low tolerance, and optimized properties for printing on Original Prusa printers, it offers reliable printing of functional parts, decorations, and safety elements that are visible even after a long "charge" by light.

Product description
Product Description
Prusament PETG Ultraglow Green 800g (NFC) is a special glowing PETG filament from Prusa Research, designed for users who want to combine the mechanical resistance of PETG with a spectacular long-lasting glow in the dark. After charging (by sun, lamp, UV light, or flashlight), the filament glows with a distinct green shade – with a weaker charge it tends towards aqua/green-blue, with a strong charge it is deep green.
The new NFC spool contains a chip that allows compatible printers (e.g., Original Prusa series) to automatically recognize the material, load recommended profiles, and facilitate correct print settings.
Main Advantages
- Strong and long-lasting glow in the dark – ideal for safety signs, decorations, orientation elements, or cosplay
- Quality PETG base – higher temperature resistance and toughness than PLA
- Integrated NFC chip in the spool – easy material identification on supported printers
- High dimensional accuracy – very stable diameter and proven production quality from Prusa Research
- Good layer adhesion and high strength – suitable for functional and visual parts
- 800 g of pure filament on a modern, narrower spool optimized for storage and handling
Applications
Prusament PETG Ultraglow Green is particularly suitable for:
- Safety and orientation elements – escape route signs, markings for doors, locks, switches
- Decorations and interior accessories – glowing logos, signs, lamps, models
- Cosplay and costumes – elements that glow in the dark (runes, symbols, effects on weapons or armor)
- Children's motifs – stars and shapes on walls, night orientation points (recommended to print out of reach of small children due to small parts)
Recommended Printing Parameters
Specific values may vary depending on the printer, nozzle, and conditions. Always start with the recommended Prusament PETG profile and fine-tune based on the result.
- Nozzle temperature: approx. 230–250 °C
- Heatbed temperature: approx. 70–90 °C
- Print speed: usually 40–60 mm/s for a quality surface
- Cooling: mild to medium, depending on the part geometry
- Print surface: textured or smooth PEI, possibly with a suitable adhesive agent
Due to luminescence additives, the filament may:
- be slightly more abrasive than standard clear PETG,
- require fine-tuning of temperature and flow for a perfect first layer.
Material Properties
- Material: specifically modified PETG with glowing pigment
- Color: Ultraglow Green (green glowing in the dark)
- Effect: glow-in-the-dark (phosphorescent)
- Filament weight on spool: 800 g
- Form: wound filament on a plastic NFC spool
- Filament diameter: 1,75 mm (for all common FDM/FFF printers with this diameter)
Compatibility and NFC Functions
- Fully compatible with all common FDM/FFF 3D printers using 1.75mm filament.
- The NFC chip is usable on printers and within the Prusa ecosystem that support this function – facilitating spool identification, profile loading, and correct settings.
Even without an NFC reader, the filament functions as a standard high-quality PETG – simply use a suitable PETG profile and optionally save your own settings for this material.
Tips for Successful Printing
- Filament drying: PETG can gradually absorb moisture from the surroundings – for best results with glowing filament, it is advisable to store it in a dry place and potentially dry it in a filament dryer before printing.
- First layer height: a slightly higher first layer and correct calibration of the nozzle distance from the bed helps achieve good adhesion without excessive "squishing" of the filament.
- Charging the glow: for maximum effect, charge the finished print with intense light or a UV source for several tens of seconds to minutes.
Who is the filament suitable for
- Hobby makers and advanced users who want to combine PETG functionality with a distinct visual effect
- Owners of Original Prusa printers utilizing the NFC ecosystem
- Users who print decorations, design objects, orientation signs, and safety elements
