Product description
Prusament PETG Terracotta Light 1kg
Prusament PETG Terracotta Light is a premium PETG filament from Prusa Research in an attractive light terracotta color reminiscent of fired clay. It is suitable for demanding users who require maximum quality, print repeatability, and full control over filament production.
Key features
- Material: PETG (polyethylene terephthalate modified with glycol)
- Color: Terracotta Light – a light, muted terracotta shade
- Filament diameter: 1,75 mm
- Guaranteed diameter tolerance: ±0,02 mm
- Net filament weight: ≥ 1 kg
- Manufacturing: Prusa Research, Czech Republic
Why choose Prusament PETG
- Top-notch quality control – every step of production is monitored, including diameter, color consistency, and mechanical properties.
- Spool traceability – using the QR code on the spool you can check the production parameters of a specific batch online.
- Excellent interlayer adhesion – ideal for functional mechanical parts, mounts, jigs and covers.
- High temperature resistance – more resistant to higher temperatures than PLA, suitable even for parts used in warmer environments.
- Low warping – PETG has a low coefficient of thermal expansion; even larger models can usually be printed without an enclosed chamber and without significant warping.
Appearance and use of the Terracotta Light shade
The color shade Terracotta Light is perfectly suited for:
- decorative models, figurines and vases
- architectural models and design prototypes
- covers and interior accessories with a “ceramic” look
- organizers, flower pots and various home accessories
The surface has the typical slightly glossy PETG appearance, the color is solid and opaque.
Recommended print settings
| Parameter | Recommended value* |
|---|---|
| Nozzle temperature | 250 ± 10 °C |
| Bed temperature | 80 ± 10 °C |
| Recommended print surface | Textured / satin sheet |
| Cooling | Medium (according to PETG profile) |
| Layer height | 0,15–0,3 mm (standard 0,4 mm nozzles) |
*Specific values may vary depending on the printer; we recommend using the preset Prusament PETG profiles in PrusaSlicer or using them as a starting point.
Advantages of PETG material
- Easy printing – properties close to PLA, but with higher toughness.
- High strength and durability – suitable for mechanically stressed functional parts.
- Good chemical and UV resistance (compared to PLA).
- Water-resistant prints – thanks to excellent layer adhesion it is possible to print functional containers and parts used in humid environments.
Limitations and recommendations
- PETG tends to string – if you encounter issues, we recommend:
- drying the filament (approx. 60–65 °C for several hours),
- fine-tuning retraction and nozzle temperature.
- Bridging usually isn’t as clean as with PLA – it is advisable to design models with this limitation in mind.
- Adhesion to smooth surfaces (glass, smooth PEI) can be very strong – use a suitable release agent (glue stick, spray) and follow your printer manufacturer’s recommendations.
Typical applications
- technical and functional parts
- cable holders, brackets, couplings, jigs
- parts for 3D printers and other hobby projects (Prusa also uses PETG for its own parts)
- electronics enclosures, assembly jigs
- design and decorative models in a terracotta shade
