Product description
Prusament PETG Sky Blue 1 kg (NFC)
Prusament PETG Sky Blue 1 kg (NFC) is a premium PETG filament manufactured in-house by Prusa Research. Each spool is precisely inspected and offers top quality, consistent color, and a very accurate diameter, which minimizes printing problems and ensures a smooth process even for long jobs.
The light blue shade Sky Blue is ideal for aesthetically attractive yet functional parts – from technical prototypes to decorations and accessories for the home or workshop.
Key Properties of PETG Material
- High toughness and impact resistance – suitable for functional and mechanically stressed parts
- Good thermal resistance compared to PLA
- Minimal warping compared to ABS
- Very good interlayer adhesion
- Resistance to common chemicals (e.g., certain cleaning agents)
NFC Technology (OpenPrintTag)
This variant is supplied on the new Prusament spool with an NFC chip according to the OpenPrintTag standard. Thanks to this, in compatible devices it is possible to:
- quickly identify the filament type and color,
- display the production batch and spool parameters,
- track the estimated remaining filament,
- facilitate the correct selection of the print profile.
This simplifies work especially when changing materials frequently or when using multiple spools simultaneously.
Recommended Print Settings
Specific values may vary slightly depending on the printer, nozzle, and conditions; below you will find the proven starting range for PETG Prusament:
- Nozzle temperature: approx. 230–250 °C
- Bed temperature: approx. 70–90 °C
- Recommended surface: textured or satin PEI sheet (for smooth sheets, careful cleaning and potentially a separation layer is necessary)
- Print speed: usually 40–60 mm/s
- Cooling: rather mild to medium (depending on part detail and shape)
Always check the recommendations in your slicer before printing (e.g., PrusaSlicer profile for Prusament PETG) and fine-tune according to the specific printer if necessary.
Storage and Handling
PETG is a slightly hygroscopic material, therefore we recommend:
- storing the spool in a closed box or bag with silica gel,
- for long-term storage in environments with high humidity, dry the filament before printing (e.g., 55–60 °C for several hours in a suitable filament dryer).
Proper storage significantly improves surface quality, reduces bubbles in the print, and helps maintain consistent extrusion.
Typical Use of Prusament PETG Sky Blue
PETG in the Sky Blue shade is a universal material suitable for:
- functional and mechanical parts (brackets, jigs, mounting elements),
- electronics and tech covers,
- organizational elements for the workshop and home (boxes, organizers, hooks),
- design models, decorations, cosplay parts where you appreciate the rich light blue color,
- parts exposed to moderate mechanical and thermal stress.
Thanks to the combination of strength, durability, and ease of printing, Prusament PETG is popular with both beginners and advanced users.
