Product description
Product Description
Prusament PETG Recycled Black 2kg (NFC) is a professional recycled PETG filament developed and manufactured by Prusa Polymers in the Czech Republic. It is created from 100% recycled Prusament PETG (manufacturing waste, rejects, samples), which significantly reduces the ecological footprint without having to compromise on print quality.
The 2 kg variant on an original Prusament spool with an NFC chip is ideal for demanding users, print farms, and everyone who prints longer series of functional parts. NFC allows compatible Prusa printers to automatically load the filament profile, which simplifies work and minimizes setup errors.
Key Features
- 100% recycled Prusament PETG – made exclusively from original Prusament PETG waste
- Large 2kg spool – fewer filament changes, ideal for long prints and print farms
- Integrated NFC chip – easy filament identification for compatible Prusa printers
- Excellent toughness and strength – suitable for functional and mechanically stressed parts
- High heat resistance approx. 68 °C – suitable even for use in warmer environments, indoors and outdoors
- Low internal stress and minimal warping – reliable printing of large models without lifting from the bed
- Easy printing (difficulty: easy to medium) – behaves similarly to classic PETG, suitable even for intermediate users
- Glossy, smooth print surface and good layer bonding
- Low moisture absorption compared to other materials
- Made in the Czech Republic – consistent quality from Prusa Research / Prusa Polymers
Recommended Use
- Mechanical parts and functional components Brackets, jigs, inserts, covers, and various auxiliary parts for the workshop or operations.
- Holders and clamping fixtures Vises, tool holders, assembly fixtures, organizers.
- Outdoor use Thanks to decent temperature and chemical resistance, it is suitable for some exterior applications (but remember to consider PETG limits).
- Watertight and sealing elements PETG has very good layer bonding, making it suitable for models where high tightness is required (ensure correct print settings).
Print Settings (guidelines)
We always recommend using official Prusament profiles in PrusaSlicer / SuperSlicer and taking these settings as a starting point.
Nozzle temperature:
- 240–260 °C (typically around 250 °C)
Heatbed temperature:
- 70–90 °C (recommended approx. 80 °C)
Print bed and surface:
- flexible PEI sheet, glass, or other surface suitable for PETG
- recommended to use a separation layer (glue stick / window cleaner) on PEI due to very strong adhesion
Cooling:
- 0–50 % according to strength and appearance requirements
- first layers without or with minimal cooling, then typically around 50 %
Recommended layer height:
- 0.15 mm and higher
Advantages and Disadvantages of PETG Recycled Material
Advantages
- high strength and toughness
- good thermal resistance (approx. 68 °C)
- easy printing – behavior close to standard PETG
- low thermal expansion, minimal warping on the bed
- low odor during printing
- good recyclability and lower ecological footprint
Disadvantages
- less suitable for very small details and tiny parts
- higher tendency for stringing – necessary to set retractions correctly
- weaker bridging than some other materials
- very strong adhesion to the bed – caution required when removing the print
- compared to PLA, it can be more sensitive to surface scratching
Recommendations for Successful Printing
- Before printing, clean the print bed, ideally with window cleaner or warm water with dish soap (for PEI, avoid excessive use of isopropyl alcohol with PETG).
- To facilitate print removal, use a thin layer of glue or another release agent.
- If stringing occurs, try to increase retraction and slightly lower the nozzle temperature.
- For maximum strength, increase the number of perimeters and wall thickness, not just the infill percentage.
