Product description
Prusament PETG Prusa Orange 1kg (NFC)
Premium PETG filament manufactured in‑house by Prusa Research. Prusament PETG is designed for reliable and consistent 3D printing on Original Prusa printers as well as other FDM/FFF machines. The Prusa Orange variant is the iconic orange color used on Prusa printer parts.
Main material advantages
- Easy and stable printing – optimized profiles in PrusaSlicer, excellent layer adhesion.
- High toughness and strength – suitable for functional and mechanically stressed parts.
- Good heat resistance – usable for parts with operating temperature of approx. up to 70 °C.
- Low shrinkage and minimal warping – suitable even for larger prints, does not warp like ABS.
- Highly accurate diameter – guaranteed tolerance of ±0,02 mm ensures consistent extrusion.
- Possibility of surface finishing – parts can be further sanded, drilled or mechanically machined.
- NFC chip in the spool – on compatible printers and systems it enables automatic filament identification.
Recommended applications
- Functional and structural parts
- Holders, jigs, fixtures and assembly aids
- Electronics enclosures, cases, parts for hobby projects
- Outdoor components (protected from long-term UV exposure)
- Prototypes, design models and final products where both mechanical durability and appearance are important
Print settings (recommendations)
For best results, we recommend using the preset Prusament PETG profiles in PrusaSlicer.
- Nozzle temperature: 250 ± 10 °C
- Bed temperature: 70–90 °C
- Print surface: textured (powder-coated) or satin steel sheet with PEI
- Print speed: typically 60–80 mm/s, up to ~200 mm/s depending on the printer
- Cooling: approx. 50 % (medium airflow)
With PETG, slight stringing is common. It can be reduced by adjusting retractions and temperatures, or removed after printing with a heat gun by briefly blowing over the print.
Material properties of PETG Prusament
- Material: PETG (polyethylene terephthalate glycol)
- Density: approx. 1,27 g/cm³
- Hardness: 74 D (Shore D)
- Filament dimensional tolerance: ±0,02 mm
- Dimensional stability and low internal stress – lower risk of cracking and warping of parts.
Prusa Orange color
The iconic Prusa Orange gives prints a professional and striking appearance. It is suitable for technical prototypes and covers as well as design models, accessories and decorations matched with Original Prusa printers.
Tips for successful printing
- Keep the print surface clean (isopropyl alcohol, or dish soap and water for degreasing).
- Do not use a glue stick on textured/satin PEI sheets unless explicitly recommended by the manufacturer.
- If you have trouble with first layer adhesion, slightly increase the bed or first layer temperature and check the nozzle height above the bed.
- Store the filament after printing back in a resealable bag with silica gel to prevent moisture absorption.
This filament is an ideal choice for users who require a reliable, strong and easy-to-print PETG with precisely controlled quality and smart identification thanks to NFC.
