Product description
Product Description
Prusament PETG Matte Black 1kg (NFC) is a top-tier PETG filament with an elegant matte black finish, produced in-house by Prusa Research. The entire manufacturing process is carefully controlled, resulting in exceptional dimensional accuracy of ±0.02 mm and consistent color throughout the entire length of the spool. This ensures reliable and repeatable printing even for detailed or larger technical parts. The matte surface reduces the visibility of layers and fingerprints and is suitable for functional and design prototypes, electronics covers, holders, fixtures, mechanical parts, and components for both indoor and outdoor use. The built-in NFC/OpenPrintTag label stores important material information directly on the spool. For compatible printers and applications, it enables quick filament identification and easier inventory management.Main Features
- Material: PETG (glycol-modified polyethylene terephthalate)
- Color: Matte Black
- Filament weight: 1 kg of pure material
- Filament diameter: 1.75 mm
- Diameter tolerance: ±0.02 mm
- Surface: matte, less glossy than standard PETG, hides minor imperfections
- Manufactured in-house by Prusa Research for maximum quality control
- High strength and toughness – suitable for functional and mechanically stressed parts
- Good temperature resistance – suitable for parts exposed to heat (e.g., in a car, near windows, in a workshop)
- Low warping – suitable even for larger models without an enclosed chamber
- Suitable for indoor and outdoor use
- NFC/OpenPrintTag label – stores spool data (material, parameters, etc.)
Recommended Use
PETG Matte Black is the ideal choice for:- functional and mechanically stressed parts
- holders, grips, fixtures, and assembly aids
- covers for electronics and technical devices
- prototypes and final parts for the workshop, office, and home
- parts exposed to higher temperatures than PLA can withstand
- models where an unobtrusive matte surface and good layer masking are desired
Printing Settings (guideline)
For the best results, we recommend starting from the preset Prusament PETG profiles in PrusaSlicer or another slicer and further fine-tuning them according to your printer:- Nozzle temperature: approx. 240–260 °C (usually around 250 °C)
- Bed temperature: approx. 70–90 °C
- Print surface: textured or satin PEI sheet, or glass with a suitable adhesive layer
- Cooling: medium (e.g., 40–60 %) depending on the model type
- Print speed: medium, according to printer capabilities and desired quality
- use dry filament (store in closed boxes, or dry before printing)
- correctly set retraction and nozzle temperature
Tips for Printing and Processing
- Always thoroughly degrease the print surface (isopropyl alcohol, etc.) before printing.
- Print the first layer slower and with sufficient pressure on the bed for reliable adhesion.
- Be careful when removing the print from the bed – PETG can adhere very strongly to the PEI surface.
- Finished parts can be sanded (better progressively with finer grits) and optionally surface-treated with coatings.
