Product description
Product description
Prusament PETG Jungle Green 1kg is a premium PETG filament developed and manufactured in-house by Prusa Research / Prusa Polymers in the Czech Republic. It is a universal and very durable material suitable for functional parts, mechanical components, brackets, jigs, and parts for both indoor and outdoor use.
Compared to PLA, PETG is less brittle, more resistant to higher temperatures and impacts and has excellent layer adhesion, which makes it possible to print parts that are both strong and tough. The shade Jungle Green is a rich, elegant green that gives your prints a distinctive technical and aesthetic look.
Prusament has long been appreciated for its exceptionally precise manufacturing – diameter 1,75 mm with a tolerance of ±0,02 mm and thorough quality control of every spool. This results in reliable extruder performance, accurate print dimensions and a minimum of printing issues.
Main advantages of PETG material
- High temperature resistance of approximately 68 °C – suitable for parts in warmer environments
- High strength and toughness – suitable for mechanically stressed parts
- Low shrinkage and minimal warping – easy printing of larger objects
- Very good layer adhesion – also suitable for water‑resistant applications
- Easy to print – difficulty between PLA and ABS, no need for an enclosed chamber
- Low moisture absorption and recyclability
Typical applications
- Functional and mechanical parts – brackets, mounts, locks, covers, jigs
- Components for 3D printers – many plastic parts of Original Prusa printers are made from PETG
- Parts for home and workshop – organizers, hooks, tool holders, clamping jigs
- Outdoor use – parts less sensitive to higher temperatures and UV radiation than PLA
- Water‑resistant applications – thanks to excellent layer adhesion, nearly watertight prints can be achieved
Recommended printing parameters
Temperatures
- Nozzle temperature: approx. 250 ± 10 °C
- Bed temperature: approx. 80 ± 10 °C
Print bed & surface
- Recommended print surfaces:
- textured and satin steel PEI sheet (ideal)
- smooth PEI, or glass with a suitable adhesive
- PETG has very strong adhesion to the bed – it is recommended to protect the surface (e.g. glue stick) and to be careful when removing prints.
Print settings
- Layer height: from 0,15 mm and above
- Print speed: up to approx. 200 mm/s (depending on the printer and settings)
- Cooling fan: approx. 50 %, first layers off or with minimal cooling
- Retractions: slightly increased compared to PLA due to its tendency to string
Material properties (typical values)
- Material: PETG (polyethylene terephthalate–glycol)
- Density: approx. 1,27 g/cm³
- Heat deflection temperature (HDT): approx. 68 °C
- Tensile strength: approx. 46 MPa
- Hardness: approx. 74 D (Shore)
- Low moisture absorption, easy to dry
Physical parameters of filament and spool
- Filament diameter: 1,75 mm
- Diameter tolerance: ±0,02 mm
- Net weight of filament: 1 kg
- Spool type: standard Prusament PETG 1kg
- Manufactured and wound by Prusa Polymers a.s., Czech Republic
Tips for printing with Prusament PETG Jungle Green
- Drying the filament: for the best surface finish and to reduce stringing, we recommend drying the filament before printing (approx. 55–60 °C, several hours depending on the dryer/oven).
- First layer: slightly higher nozzle‑to‑bed distance (greater Z‑offset) than with PLA to prevent smearing of the first layer and damage to the PEI surface.
- Bed cleaning: use isopropyl alcohol or the recommended cleaner, avoid grease.
- Stringing tuning: in case of stringing, adjust retractions and lower the nozzle temperature by a few degrees.
