Prusament PETG Jet Black is a high-quality PETG filament manufactured in-house by Prusa Polymers. This Refill 900 g variant is intended for refilling the new-generation (NFC) reusable Prusament spool. In this way, you significantly reduce the amount of plastic waste and the cost of further printing without losing the comfort of the original Prusament spool.

The refill is wound on a cardboard core adapted for the new thinner NFC spools – after reassembling the sidewalls you get a fully featured smart spool with a stored NFC label according to the OpenPrintTag standard. The tag contains data on the material, color, and other parameters and can be read, for example, by the Prusa mobile app and in the future also by the planned NFC spool holders.

Recommended print settings

Specific profiles for Prusament PETG are available in PrusaSlicer; approximate ranges below:

• Filament diameter: 1,75 mm
• Nozzle temperature: approx. 230–250 °C
• Bed temperature: approx. 70–90 °C (depending on surface type)
• Print speed: typically 40–60 mm/s (depending on model complexity)
• Cooling: medium to lower (compared to PLA)

Before printing, we recommend thoroughly degreasing the print sheet (isopropyl alcohol) and, for larger parts, using a brim if necessary. For long-term top print quality it is advisable to dry PETG from time to time in a filament dryer according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.

Tips for successful PETG printing

• Do not print on completely clean smooth glass without a release layer – PETG can adhere too strongly. Use a recommended surface (e.g. textured or satin steel sheet) or a suitable release agent.
• Do not expose finished parts to temperatures above approx. 70–80 °C for long periods – deformation may occur.
• For dark colors (such as Jet Black), follow the recommended cooling and speed to ensure an even surface without scorching.
