Product description
Product Description
Prusament PETG Jet Black 2kg (NFC) is a premium PETG filament from Prusa Research, designed for reliable printing of functional parts with high demands for mechanical resistance and stability. The Jet Black shade provides a deep, rich black color with an elegant surface, suitable for technical components, covers, jigs, and design elements.
The filament is manufactured with very strict quality control and a diameter accuracy of 1.75 mm with a tolerance of ±0.02 mm, ensuring consistent material feeding and minimizing the risk of nozzle clogging. Thanks to low shrinkage and excellent layer adhesion, Prusament PETG is also suitable for larger models, even without an enclosed chamber.
The new generation of spools is equipped with an NFC tag (OpenPrintTag). Compatible printers can read material information (type, color, recommended temperatures) from the tag, making filament setup and management easier.
Main Advantages
- Premium PETG filament developed and manufactured by Prusa Research
- Jet Black color – deep, rich black for professional-looking prints
- Diameter accuracy of ±0.02 mm for consistent extrusion and quality surface
- Large 2kg spool – ideal for long prints, series, and large parts
- Excellent layer adhesion, high toughness, and impact resistance
- Low shrinkage and warping, suitable for larger models
- Good temperature resistance and suitability for indoor and outdoor use
- Integrated NFC tag (OpenPrintTag) – fast material identification, convenient use
- Suitable for functional prototypes, mechanical components, covers, holders, jigs, and technical models
Recommended Use
Prusament PETG Jet Black is primarily suitable for:
- Functional and structural parts exposed to mechanical stress
- Electronics enclosures, holders, jigs, assembly fixtures
- Workshop tools and accessories (tool holders, jigs, templates)
- Components requiring higher temperature resistance than PLA
- Outdoor and semi-outdoor applications where durability and resistance are important
Print Settings (Manufacturer's Recommendations)
- Nozzle temperature: approx. 250 °C (typical recommended range for Prusament PETG 230–250 °C)
- Heatbed temperature: 70–90 °C
- Recommended surface: textured or satin steel sheet
- Fan: lower speeds than for PLA (for better layer adhesion)
For the best results, we recommend using the preset Prusament PETG profiles in PrusaSlicer or another modern slicer and printing on a clean, degreased bed surface.
Tips for Printing PETG
- Keep the filament dry before printing; PETG is slightly hygroscopic – drying can improve the surface and reduce stringing.
- If stringing occurs, fine-tune retraction and nozzle temperature in small increments.
- Increase the first layer (both height and extrusion width) and optionally slightly decrease the first layer speed for better adhesion.
- For 2kg spools, it is advisable to use a sturdier spool holder to ensure smooth unwinding.
