Product description
Prusament PETG Jet Black 1kg (NFC)
Prusament PETG Jet Black is a high-quality black PETG filament manufactured in‑house by Prusa Research / Prusa Polymers a.s. with a focus on high precision, color consistency and perfectly wound spools. The NFC variant allows you to store and read information about a specific spool.
Main benefits and use cases
- Universal technical material – suitable for functional prototypes, workshop parts, covers, mounts, jigs and aesthetic models
- High dimensional accuracy (typically ±0.02 mm) ensures reliable printing even for longer jobs
- Good heat resistance (around 68 °C) – suitable for parts that may warm up slightly (electronics, car interior etc.)
- Excellent layer adhesion – strong functional prints with lower risk of cracking
- Low shrinkage and warping – easy printing even for larger objects
- Deep black Jet Black color – more matte, technical appearance without unwanted grayish shades
- NFC chip on the spool – quick reading of filament parameters and inventory management with compatible solutions
Recommended print settings
Specific values may vary slightly depending on the printer and conditions; the values below serve as a proven baseline.
- Nozzle temperature: approx. 240–260 °C (typically ~250 °C)
- Bed temperature: approx. 70–90 °C (typically ~80 °C)
- Print speed: up to around 200 mm/s depending on printer capabilities
- Cooling: roughly 30–60 % (often around 50 %), depending on model geometry
- Print surface: smooth, satin or lightly textured PEI; always well degreased (IPA)
Printing tips
- For the first layer, choose a slightly higher bed temperature and lower speed to ensure good adhesion.
- PETG tends to string more – proper retraction settings, a slightly lower nozzle temperature and a clean nozzle will help.
- When printing on a smooth PEI sheet, avoid pressing the first layer too much to prevent surface damage.
- Store the filament in a dry place, ideally in a sealed box or with a desiccant.
Typical applications
- Holders, brackets and mounting components
- Electronics enclosures, junction boxes, cable organizers
- Functional prototypes of mechanical parts
- Household and workshop parts (hooks, storage systems, jigs)
- Design and decorative objects in an elegant black color
