Product description

Prusament PETG Clear 900g Refill (NFC Compatible)

Prusament PETG Clear 900g Refill (NFC Compatible) is a premium transparent PETG filament in the form of a refill designed for the reuse of original Prusament spools with an NFC tag according to the OpenPrintTag standard. You get top Prusament print quality while reducing plastic waste and costs for additional spools.

Why choose Prusament PETG Clear Refill

  • Excellent clarity and gloss – suitable for transparent models, covers, lighting elements, protective shields, or design parts.
  • Heat and moisture resistance – PETG is more stable than PLA, handles higher temperatures better, and is less brittle.
  • High dimensional accuracy – Prusament is manufactured with very tight diameter tolerances, which results in high-quality and reliable printing.
  • Refill for Prusament NFC spools – the refill is wound on a cardboard core and is intended to be transferred to the original detachable spool with NFC.
  • OpenPrintTag NFC compatibility – the smart NFC tag on the original spool allows storing and reading information about the filament (material, color, recommended temperatures, etc.) in supported applications and ecosystems.
  • Eco-friendlier choice – by reusing the plastic spool sides, you significantly reduce plastic waste.

Typical use

Prusament PETG Clear is particularly suitable for:
  • functional prototypes and parts with a requirement for higher temperature resistance
  • transparent and semi-transparent models, covers, display cases, light covers
  • protective shields, electronics enclosures and transparent lids
  • decorative and design elements where the clear structure of the material stands out

PETG material properties

PETG combines some advantages of PLA and ABS:
  • easier printing than ABS, while maintaining higher toughness than PLA
  • lower shrinkage – less risk of deformation and corner warping
  • good chemical resistance (e.g., to some cleaning agents)
  • higher thermal resistance than PLA (suitable for heat-stressed parts)

Recommended print settings

Always verify specific values in the official print table and profiles for Prusament PETG in PrusaSlicer.
Usually recommended range:
  • Nozzle temperature: approx. 230–250 °C
  • Bed temperature: approx. 70–90 °C
  • Print speed: medium (e.g., 40–60 mm/s depending on printer type)
  • Fan: rather lower to medium power compared to PLA (for better layer adhesion)
To achieve the best bed adhesion, it is advisable to:
  • use a clean, degreased print surface (e.g., IPA)
  • for smooth sheets, possibly use a glue stick or other release agent to prevent PETG from adhering too strongly

How Prusament Refill works

Prusament Refill is wound on a cardboard core and is intended for transfer to the original detachable Prusament spool:
  1. After using up the original filament, disassemble the plastic sides of the original spool.
  2. Place them onto the refill wound on the cardboard core and snap them together according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  3. The NFC tag (OpenPrintTag) located in the original spool can be reused and data can be written to it using a compatible application.
This system allows for safe packaging and transport of refills (minimizing tangling) while providing quick and convenient refill replacement without the need to keep buying new plastic spools.

Compatibility

  • Designed for original detachable Prusament spools with NFC (OpenPrintTag).
  • Suitable for most common FFF/FDM 3D printers that print from PETG and use a standard filament diameter.

Summary of benefits

  • premium Prusament PETG Clear with top consistency
  • 900 g refill – optimized for new thinner spools with NFC
  • compatible with the OpenPrintTag (NFC Compatible) standard
  • eco-friendlier and more economical alternative to buying new spools
  • ideal for functional, technical, and design transparent prints
