Product description
Prusament PETG Clear 900g Refill (NFC Compatible)
Prusament PETG Clear 900g Refill (NFC Compatible) is a premium transparent PETG filament in the form of a refill designed for repeated use of the original Prusament spool with an NFC tag according to the OpenPrintTag standard. This way you get top Prusament print quality while reducing both plastic waste and the cost of additional spools.
Why choose Prusament PETG Clear Refill
- Excellent clarity and gloss – suitable for transparent models, covers, light elements, face shields, or design parts.
- Resistance to heat and humidity – PETG is more stable than PLA, handles higher temperatures better, and is less brittle.
- High dimensional accuracy – Prusament is manufactured with a very tight diameter tolerance, which results in high-quality and reliable printing.
- Refill for Prusament NFC spools – the refill is wound on a cardboard core and is intended to be transferred onto the original reusable spool with NFC.
- OpenPrintTag NFC compatibility – the smart NFC tag on the original spool allows storing and reading filament information (material, color, recommended temperatures, etc.) in supported applications and ecosystems.
- More eco-friendly choice – by reusing the plastic spool flanges you significantly reduce plastic waste.
Typical applications
Prusament PETG Clear is particularly suitable for:
- functional prototypes and parts with a requirement for higher heat resistance
- transparent and semi-transparent models, covers, display cases, light diffusers and covers
- protective shields, electronics enclosures and transparent lids
- decorative and design elements where the clear structure of the material stands out
PETG material properties
PETG combines some advantages of PLA and ABS:
- easier to print than ABS, while maintaining higher toughness than PLA
- lower shrinkage – reduced risk of warping and corner lifting
- good chemical resistance (e.g. to some cleaning agents)
- higher heat resistance than PLA (suitable for heat-stressed parts)
Recommended print settings
Always verify specific values in the official print table and profiles for Prusament PETG in PrusaSlicer.
Typical recommended ranges:
- Nozzle temperature: approx. 230–250 °C
- Bed temperature: approx. 70–90 °C
- Print speed: medium (e.g. 40–60 mm/s depending on printer type)
- Fan: rather low to medium power compared to PLA (for better layer adhesion)
To achieve the best bed adhesion it is advisable to:
- use a clean, degreased print surface (e.g. IPA)
- on smooth sheets, optionally use a glue stick or another separation agent to avoid excessive PETG adhesion
How Prusament Refill works
Prusament Refill is wound on a cardboard core and is intended to be transferred onto the original reusable Prusament spool:
- After using up the original filament, disassemble the plastic flanges of the original spool.
- Place them onto the refill wound on the cardboard core and snap them together according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- The NFC tag (OpenPrintTag) placed in the original spool can be reused and you can optionally write data to it with a compatible application.
This system enables safe packaging and transport of refills (minimizing tangling) and at the same time fast and convenient replacement of the filament without having to keep buying new plastic spools.
Compatibility
- Intended for original reusable Prusament spools with NFC (OpenPrintTag).
- Suitable for most common FFF/FDM 3D printers that print PETG and use the standard filament diameter.
Summary of benefits
- premium Prusament PETG Clear with top consistency
- 900 g refill – optimized for the new thinner spools with NFC
- compatible with the OpenPrintTag (NFC Compatible) standard
- more eco-friendly and economical alternative to buying new spools
- ideal for functional, technical, and design transparent prints
