Product description
Prusament PETG Clear 1kg (NFC)
Prusament PETG Clear is a premium clear PETG filament developed and manufactured by Prusa Research. It is designed for users who require reliability, dimensional accuracy, and excellent visual properties in the form of transparent or semi-transparent prints. Thanks to the integrated NFC chip (OpenPrintTag), you can easily load filament information (material type, color, recommended temperatures, etc.) into compatible printers and mobile applications. This significantly facilitates correct print parameter settings and inventory tracking.Main advantages of Prusament PETG Clear (NFC)
- High-quality PETG from Prusa Research – manufactured in-house with strict quality control and diameter accuracy of ±0.03 mm.
- Clear / transparent color – suitable for parts where transparency or a view of the internal structure is desired.
- Integrated NFC chip (OpenPrintTag) – fast loading of filament parameters, better overview of material and its usage.
- Good mechanical strength and toughness – ideal for functional parts, covers, brackets, and technical components.
- Higher heat resistance than PLA – suitable for parts exposed to slightly elevated temperatures (e.g., in a car interior, near electronics).
- Easy printing – less prone to warping than some other technical materials, suitable even for advanced beginners.
Recommended use
Prusament PETG Clear is a versatile material suitable for:- functional prototypes and technical parts
- electronics covers and transparent windows
- design and decorative objects with a transparent effect
- parts where higher heat resistance than PLA is needed
- mechanically stressed components, grips, brackets, fixtures
Recommended print settings
Specific values may vary slightly depending on the printer and environment. The following ranges are based on recommendations for Prusament PETG.
- Nozzle temperature: approx. 230–250 °C
- Bed temperature: approx. 70–90 °C
- Recommended surface: textured or satin powder-coated PEI sheet, or another surface suitable for PETG
- Print speed: medium (usually 40–60 mm/s depending on the printer)
- Fan: rather lower power than for PLA, depending on the model geometry
Tips for working with PETG
- Filament drying: PETG is partially hygroscopic – during long-term storage in an open environment, it can absorb moisture and then pop, form bubbles, and result in a worse surface during printing. For optimal results, store the filament in a dry place or dry it before printing.
- Removing prints: PETG has very strong adhesion to some print surfaces. If the print cannot be easily removed, let the bed cool down (or conversely, heat it slightly) and use a plastic spatula.
- Retraction settings: To limit stringing (hair-like strands), it is advisable to pay attention to retraction and temperature settings.
Who is Prusament PETG Clear suitable for
- Owners of Original Prusa printers (MK3, MK4, MINI, XL, etc.), where pre-set profiles for Prusament PETG are available.
- Users of other FDM/FFF printers who want stable and verified PETG with consistent quality.
- Customers who appreciate NFC identification of the spool for better integration with modern printing ecosystems.
