Product description

Product Description

Prusament PETG Anthracite Grey 2kg (NFC) is a premium PETG filament developed and manufactured by Prusa Research. It combines high mechanical strength, temperature and chemical resistance with easy printing even on open FDM printers.

Anthracite Grey is a universal technical shade suitable for functional parts, prototypes, electronics covers, and design models. The spool contains an integrated NFC chip, which allows next-generation Original Prusa printers (with NFC support) to automatically recognize the filament type and simplifies inventory management.

Main Advantages

  • Premium PETG from Prusa – the same type of filament Prusa uses for its own functional printer parts.
  • Large 2 kg package – ideal for serial printing, large objects, and long jobs without frequent spool changes.
  • High strength and toughness – suitable for mechanically stressed components, brackets, covers, and assembly jigs.
  • Excellent layer adhesion and low warping – stable printing even of larger parts without the need for an enclosed chamber.
  • Higher thermal resistance than PLA – suitable for parts in environments with elevated temperatures (typically around 70–80 °C).
  • Integrated NFC chip in the spool – smart filament tracking on compatible printers (Prusa/NFC).
  • Precise diameter tolerance of ±0.02 mm – smooth feeding without nozzle clogging.
  • Low water absorption and good chemical resistance – suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Recommended Use

Prusament PETG Anthracite Grey is ideal for:

  • functional and mechanically stressed parts
  • technical prototypes and assembly jigs
  • covers and holders for electronics
  • outdoor components, brackets, consoles, grips
  • parts requiring higher thermal and chemical resistance than PLA

Recommended Print Settings

Specific values may vary slightly depending on the printer and conditions. The ranges below are based on the manufacturer's recommendations for Prusament PETG.

\n
  • Nozzle temperature: approx. 230–250 °C
  • Bed temperature: approx. 70–90 °C
  • Print surface: textured or satin PEI sheet, or glass with a separation layer
  • Print speed: typically 40–60 mm/s (depending on printer type and surface quality)
  • Fan: medium speed (lower than for PLA to maintain bond strength between layers)

To ensure optimal quality, it is recommended to print in a well-ventilated area and store the spool in a dry place.

PETG Material Properties

  • Material type: PETG (glycol-modified PET)
  • High toughness: the material does not crack as easily as PLA, it has slight flexibility.
  • Low shrinkage and warping: suitable even for larger objects without an enclosed chamber.
  • Good UV and chemical resistance: suitable for a range of technical and outdoor applications.
  • Lower brittleness compared to PLA: suitable for mechanically stressed and functional parts.

Who is the filament suitable for

Prusament PETG is suitable for both advanced users and ambitious beginners who already have basic experience with PLA and want to switch to a stronger functional material. Thanks to stable behavior and official profiles in PrusaSlicer, print setup is very simple, especially on Original Prusa printers.
