Product description
Product description
Prusament PETG Anthracite Grey 1kg (NFC) is a high-quality PETG filament developed and manufactured directly by Prusa Research in the Czech Republic. Production is fully under internal control – every step is measured and tested, which makes it possible to guarantee exceptional dimensional accuracy of ±0.02 mm and consistent color of every spool.
The dark, elegant shade Anthracite Grey is perfect for functional prototypes, technical components, mechanical parts, mounts, electronics enclosures, and decorative models where you want to minimize the visibility of fingerprints and minor imperfections.
The NFC spool variant contains an integrated NFC chip, thanks to which compatible Prusa printers can automatically read information about the filament (type, color, production batch, profile) and thus make print setup easier.
Key features
- PETG material – a combination of toughness and heat resistance suitable for functional parts.
- Highly accurate 1.75 mm diameter ± 0.02 mm for consistent extrusion and high print surface quality.
- Filament weight ≥ 1 kg of pure filament on the spool.
- Anthracite Grey color (anthracite gray) – a universal technical shade suitable even for professional use.
- NFC chip in the spool – easy spool identification in compatible Prusa printers.
- Good heat resistance (approx. 68 °C at 0.45 MPa) – suitable for parts exposed to higher temperatures than PLA.
- Low shrinkage and warping – easy printing without an enclosed chamber.
- High strength and toughness – suitable for mechanically stressed parts.
- Better sandability than PLA – the material is softer and melts less during sanding.
- Manufactured in the Czech Republic – original Prusament from Prusa Research / Prusa Polymers.
Recommended use
PETG is an ideal choice where PLA is no longer sufficient in terms of thermal or mechanical properties, but you don’t want the printing complexity of ABS:
- functional prototypes and test parts
- mounts, brackets, and assembly jigs
- enclosures and frames for electronics
- mechanical components for home and workshop use
- interior car parts (phone holders, organizers, etc.)
- technical and designer models with higher durability
Print settings (indicative)
The values are based on the recommendations for Prusament PETG and common profiles in PrusaSlicer:
- Nozzle temperature: 230–250 °C (typically around 240 °C)
- Bed temperature: 70–85 °C (about 80 °C recommended)
- Recommended surface: smooth, satin, or lightly textured PEI sheet
- Print speed: commonly 40–80 mm/s (rather slower for detailed models)
- Fan: about 30–60 % depending on the part type and required strength
For best results, we recommend using the predefined Prusament PETG profile in PrusaSlicer or another slicer, if available.
Tips for printing PETG
- Bed cleaning: follow the manufacturer’s recommendations (for PEI surfaces mainly use isopropyl alcohol or water with detergent; avoid acetone).
- Beware of too strong adhesion: for long-term printing on a smooth PEI sheet it is advisable to use a release layer (glue stick, spray) to prevent damage to the surface.
- Stringing: if it appears, well‑dried filament, fine tuning of retraction, and nozzle temperature will help. Prusament PETG profiles in PrusaSlicer already have these parameters optimized.
- Storage: keep the spool dry (resealable bags, silica gel); PETG is less sensitive to moisture than PA or TPU, but for long-term stable results dryness is always an advantage.
