Product description
Prusament PC Blend (polycarbonate) is a filament ideal for highly durable 3D prints.
Polycarbonates are a group of plastics known for their strength, toughness, and mechanical and thermal resistance. They are commonly used to produce CDs, protective eyewear, and automotive headlights.
As a pure material, polycarbonate is almost unusable for 3D printing. It adheres very poorly to the print sheet and, due to its high thermal expansion, it warps and cracks as it cools. We added other additives to polycarbonate to make printing easier, improve adhesion to the print sheet, and reduce warping and cracking while maintaining the excellent mechanical properties of polycarbonate. The result is our new Prusament PC Blend.
We recommend Prusament PC Blend primarily to experienced 3D printing users. It is certainly not suitable as the first printing material for a beginner; that should always be PLA or PETG. Polycarbonate is an excellent plastic for printing prototypes and functional objects, heat-stressed parts, and mechanically stressed components.
Print sheet preparation
PC Blend can be printed on both the textured and smooth print sheet, provided you lightly coat the sheet with a glue stick (for example, KORES). Printing without glue, which serves as a release layer between the print and the sheet, risks damaging the print sheet.
To remove glue residue, use a sufficient amount of isopropyl alcohol and wipe it off with a paper towel. Especially with the textured sheet, avoid washing with water. In such a case, the sheet may rust and become irreversibly damaged.

Notes
PC Blend filament is manufactured directly at Prusa Research.
This 1.75 mm filament is manufactured with a precision of ±0.03 mm.
As of June 9, 2021, Prusament PC Blends have a new formulation. The material density is now slightly lower, so the minimum spool weight is 970 g. The approximate filament length on the spool remains unchanged at 330 m – the same as standard Prusaments.
