Product description

Product description

Prusament PC Blend Prusa Orange 900g (NFC) is a professional polycarbonate filament for users who need exceptionally durable and long-lasting prints. PC Blend is a specially developed polycarbonate blend optimized for desktop 3D printing – compared to common PC materials, it has better bed adhesion and lower deformation (warping), making it suitable for printing larger and functionally stressed parts.

Thanks to its high heat resistance (approx. 113 °C), excellent impact resistance, and strength, it is ideal for technical, mechanical, and automotive applications, jigs, brackets, covers, assembly fixtures, functional prototypes, and parts for demanding environments.

The rich shade of Prusa Orange ensures excellent detail visibility and is suitable for safety and highlighting elements.

The version with an NFC chip allows compatible Prusa printers to automatically load information about the material, color, and remaining filament amount.

Key features

  • PC Blend material (polycarbonate blend) – optimized for desktop 3D printing
  • High temperature resistance – up to approx. 113 °C
  • Very high mechanical strength and toughness
  • Excellent impact resistance even at low temperatures
  • Excellent dimensional stability – minimal deformation, low warping
  • Good bed adhesion (with the use of a separation layer – glue stick)
  • Low hygroscopicity – drying before printing is usually not necessary
  • Styrene-free
  • Good electrical insulation properties
  • Easy sanding (wet and dry) for a smooth surface and post-processing
  • Vibrant Prusa Orange color – ideal for functional and design parts
  • Integrated NFC chip – transmission of spool data to compatible Prusa printers

Recommended use

  • Functional prototypes and final mechanical parts
  • Technical components, jigs, and brackets
  • Covers and components for elevated temperatures
  • Parts for automotive, workshop, and industrial environments
  • Impact-resistant parts, protective elements, assembly templates

PC Blend is intended more for advanced users – it requires higher printing temperatures and ideally a partially covered or enclosed printer.

Printing settings (indicative)

Specific values may vary depending on the printer, nozzle, and environmental conditions.

Temperatures

  • Nozzle temperature: approx. 275 ± 10 °C
  • Bed temperature: approx. 110 ± 10 °C

Print bed

  • Surface: smooth or textured PEI sheet
  • Separation layer required – glue stick (e.g., Kores) is recommended
  • Without glue, there is a risk of damaging the print sheet due to strong adhesion

Cooling and environment

  • Fan: approx. 20% (low to medium cooling)
  • Recommended: printer enclosure or box, limiting drafts and printing in cold environments

Tips for limiting deformations (warping)

  • Increase the bed temperature within the recommended range
  • Use a brim of at least 4 mm or a high skirt
  • Place the model in the center of the bed
  • For larger parts, reduce infill and the number of perimeters
  • Print smaller objects or divide the model into parts

Compatibility and NFC usage

  • Compatible with FDM/FFF 3D printers capable of printing at approx. 275 °C at the nozzle and 110 °C on the bed
  • Ideally Original Prusa i3 MK3S/MK3.5/MK4, MINI/MINI+, and others printers with a suitable hotend and heated bed
  • NFC chip: on supported Prusa printers, it allows automatic loading of the material profile and monitoring of remaining filament (depending on the specific printer generation/firmware)

Package contents

  • 1× spool Prusament PC Blend Prusa Orange 900 g (NFC)
  • Resealable bag for storage
