Prusament PC Blend Natural 900g (NFC)
Prusament PC Blend Natural 900g (NFC) is a premium polycarbonate filament manufactured directly at Prusa Research. It offers high heat resistance up to 113 °C, great toughness, dimensional stability and minimal moisture absorption. Thanks to the integrated NFC tag according to the OpenPrintTag standard, compatible printers can automatically recognize the spool and load the material parameters. An ideal choice for functional, mechanically and thermally stressed parts, jigs and prototypes.

Product description
Product description
Prusament PC Blend Natural 900g (NFC) is a top-class polycarbonate filament (PC Blend) developed and manufactured in-house by Prusa Research. This material is designed for durable, functional and long-term stable 3D prints that must withstand mechanical stress, impacts and higher temperatures.
The color variant Natural offers a natural, slightly milky appearance, suitable for technical parts, prototypes, covers and components where material performance is more important than a striking color.
The built-in NFC tag (OpenPrintTag) in the new generation of spools allows compatible printers and devices to quickly read the basic information about the material (type, printing temperatures, etc.) and thus make it easier to set up printing correctly.
Key features
- Material: polycarbonate blend (PC Blend) – tough, strong and rigid engineering plastic
- High heat resistance up to 113 °C – suitable for thermally stressed parts (e.g. parts around motors, fans, machine covers)
- Excellent mechanical resistance – very strong and rigid material, resistant to impacts and wear
- Very good dimensional stability – compared to common polycarbonates, PC Blend is easier to print, with a lower tendency to warp and layer cracking
- Low moisture absorption – the material is only very slightly hygroscopic, usually there is no need to dry it before printing
- Resistant to creep – prints do not deform under long-term mechanical stress, suitable for functional components
- Good electrical insulating properties – suitable for certain electrical and mechatronic applications
- Styrene-free – a safer alternative to ASA (less toxic fumes)
- Integrated NFC tag (OpenPrintTag) – rewritable NFC chip with basic filament information, readable e.g. by the Prusa mobile app
- Premium quality control – guaranteed production diameter tolerance of ±0,03 mm and the possibility to check the parameters of a specific spool via a QR code
Recommended applications
- Mechanically stressed parts – levers, holders, mounts, stops, gear covers
- Thermally stressed components – parts near motors, fans, covers of electronics with higher heating, parts of 3D printers (e.g. fan shrouds)
- Functional machine components – jigs, stops, sensor and cable holders, assembly line components
- Prototypes and test parts – where it is necessary to simulate real mechanical load and temperature

Warning: PC Blend is intended rather for advanced users. Beginners are advised to start with PLA or PETG and switch to PC Blend only after gaining experience with printer settings.
Print settings (manufacturer recommendations)
- Nozzle temperature: 275 ± 10 °C
- Heated bed temperature: 110 ± 10 °C
- Recommended print sheet: satin / PEI; it is necessary to use a separation layer (glue stick) due to very strong adhesion to the surface
- Part cooling: fan on, about 20 % recommended
- Printing difficulty: higher – suitable for an enclosed print chamber or at least a draft-free environment
Recommendations for successful printing
- Use an enclosure / printer cover or at least a stable temperature without drafts.
- Before printing, apply a thin layer of glue on the recommended print sheet – you will prevent damage to the surface and make print removal easier.
- For larger models, add a wide brim (min. 4 mm) and possibly a high skirt around the object to reduce deformation during printing.
- Reduce the number of perimeters and infill in massive models to limit internal stresses.
Technical parameters of the filament
- Manufacturer: Prusa Research
- Product line: Prusament PC Blend
- Color: Natural (natural, light beige / milky)
- Material type: PC Blend (polycarbonate filament)
- Filament diameter: 1,75 mm
- Diameter tolerance: ±0,03 mm
- Material weight on spool: 900 g (minimum material weight; the new formulation has a lower density, the length is approximately 330 m similar to 970 g versions)
- Print heat resistance: up to 113 °C
- Recommended print surface: satin / PEI with applied separation layer (glue stick)
- Hygroscopicity: very low – usually there is no need to dry before printing
- NFC: yes, rewritable NFC tag according to the OpenPrintTag standard on the spool
Advantages compared to common PC filaments
- Easier printing thanks to a lower tendency to warping and layer cracking
- Better adhesion to the print bed when the separation agent is used correctly
- Higher user comfort thanks to monitored diameter, top-class winding quality and the possibility to easily look up the parameters of a specific spool
- New spool type with a simple disassembly/locking mechanism and integrated NFC tag, also suitable for multimaterial systems
Safety and health aspects
- PC Blend does not contain styrene, therefore it is less problematic than some styrene-based materials (e.g. ASA).
- However, during printing it can emit a noticeable odor, therefore a well-ventilated environment or an enclosed printer with a filter is recommended.
