Product description
Product Description
Prusament PC Blend Jet Black 900g (NFC) is an advanced polycarbonate (PC) filament manufactured directly by Prusa Research on their own lines with very strict quality control. This material is primarily intended for functional, mechanically and thermally stressed parts where high strength, toughness, stiffness, and dimensional stability are required. PC Blend combines the advantages of classic polycarbonate with better printability – it has a lower tendency to warp and crack in layers than common PC, while maintaining temperature resistance up to approx. 113 °C. The Jet Black variant offers a deep, rich black shade suitable for technical parts, design prototypes, and final products.NFC Spool – OpenPrintTag
This new generation of Prusament is wound on a redesigned spool with an integrated NFC tag according to the OpenPrintTag standard. The tag is:- fully rewritable and works completely offline,
- stored material data can be read directly by the printer or the Prusa mobile application,
- an open standard – compatible with various brands and ecosystems.
Key Features
- Polycarbonate filament (PC Blend) for functional and highly stressed parts
- High temperature resistance up to approx. 113 °C – suitable for parts near motors, electronics, or in warmer environments
- Very high strength, toughness, and stiffness – resistance to impact and wear
- Excellent dimensional stability compared to common PC – less warping, layer cracking is rather exceptional
- Low moisture absorption – frequent drying is not necessary, the material is only minimally hygroscopic
- Good electrical insulation properties – suitable for various electronics brackets and covers
- Styrene-free – less problematic emissions compared to ASA/ABS
- Diameter precision ±0.03 mm – stable extrusion and quality surface
- NFC (OpenPrintTag) on the spool – fast material identification without the cloud
Typical Use
Prusament PC Blend is ideal for:- Functional prototypes and final parts in small-scale production
- Mechanically stressed components – brackets, levers, jigs, clamps, hinges
- Thermally stressed parts – covers near motors, fans, heat sources
- Parts for industrial and production lines – jigs, stops, templates
- Technical components in automotive and engineering environments
Recommended Print Settings
Temperatures
- Nozzle temperature: 275 ± 10 °C
- Bed temperature: 110 ± 10 °C
Print Bed
- Recommended surface: Satin steel sheet / PEI (for smooth and textured sheets, it is recommended to use a separation layer – e.g., glue stick)
Cooling and Environment
- Part cooling: partial, approx. 20% (depending on model geometry)
- Recommended: printing in a closed space / enclosure or at least with a higher ambient temperature to limit warping
- Bonding / adhesion: for large models, it is recommended to use glue, a brim, or a higher skirt to increase adhesion and reduce warp
Printing Tips
- Before printing, check that the printer reliably reaches the required temperatures (nozzle ~275 °C, bed ~110 °C).
- For larger objects, use an enclosure and a brim or high skirt to minimize warping.
- Ensure good ventilation of the room – slight odors may be released during printing.
- For maximum part strength, orient components so that the layer direction stresses critical points as little as possible.
