Prusament PC Blend Carbon Fiber Black 2kg (NFC)
High-strength technical filament made of polycarbonate blend filled with carbon fibers, in black, on a 2kg spool with an NFC chip.
Prusament PC Blend Carbon Fiber Black is a top-tier material developed for demanding technical parts with high heat resistance (approx. 114 °C), excellent dimensional stability, and a matte professional finish. Thanks to carbon fibers, it offers higher stiffness, strength, and wear resistance, while warping less than standard PC, allowing the printing of larger models even without an enclosure. Ideal for functional components, jigs, brackets, and parts exposed to mechanical and thermal stress. A hardened steel nozzle is required for printing.

Product description
Product Description
Prusament PC Blend Carbon Fiber Black 2kg (NFC) is a professional 3D filament based on a polycarbonate blend (PC Blend) reinforced with carbon fibers. It combines high strength, stiffness, and heat resistance with surprisingly good printability. Compared to pure PC Blend, it offers lower warping, better dimensional stability, and higher resistance to UV radiation and common chemicals.
Thanks to the larger 2kg spool with an NFC chip, it is ideal for serial production, printing large functional parts, and long uninterrupted jobs.
Main Advantages
- Reinforced PC Blend with carbon fibers – significantly higher strength and stiffness than standard PC or PETG
- High temperature resistance – approximately 114 °C, up to around 130 °C after annealing (according to TDS)
- Excellent dimensional stability – very low warping, suitable even for larger models
- Matte black surface – professional technical look, hides minor imperfections
- Good resistance to UV radiation and common chemicals – suitable even for demanding environments
- Lower moisture absorption – pre-print drying is usually not necessary
- Reinforced with recycled carbon fibers – a more ecological choice in the PC-CF material category
- NFC chip in the spool – fast material identification on compatible Original Prusa printers
Typical Use
This filament is primarily intended for advanced users and technical applications:
- Functional and structural parts
- motor mounts, gear covers, mechanical adapters
- jigs and fixtures in production, assembly jigs
- Parts exposed to heat
- fan shrouds, printer parts, mounts near motors or electronics
- Outdoor and industrial applications
- parts with requirements for UV resistance and chemical resistance
- Larger technical prints
- robust structural components, brackets, frames, and housings
Printing Recommendations
Warning: The material is abrasive – a hardened steel nozzle (or other wear-resistant material) is required for printing. Using a brass nozzle will lead to its rapid wear.
Recommended Settings (guideline)
- Nozzle temperature: approx. 285 ± 10 °C
- Bed temperature: approx. 110 ± 10 °C (heated bed is required)
- Chamber: enclosed space is not necessary – an advantage over pure PC
- Part cooling: rather low to none (max. approx. 20 %)
- Print speed: medium to higher, as per printer manufacturer recommendations
Bed Surface
- Textured PEI powder-coated sheet – excellent choice, standard IPA cleaning is sufficient
- Smooth PEI sheet – recommended to use a separation layer (e.g., glue stick) to prevent too strong adhesion and surface damage
Material Properties
- Base: PC Blend (polycarbonate blend)
- Filling: carbon fibers
- Resulting properties:
- high strength and stiffness
- very good wear resistance
- high temperature resistance (approx. 114 °C, higher after annealing)
- low warping, good dimensional stability
- matte, slightly rough surface
- lower density than pure PC (due to carbon fibers)
The material is suitable for functional, highly stressed parts that common PLA/PETG/ASA materials cannot handle.
Who is the filament suitable for
- Advanced and experienced users of FDM printers
- Owners of Original Prusa printers (MK3S+, MK4, MINI+, etc.) with a hardened nozzle and heated bed
- Users looking for a reliable PC-CF filament with well-documented properties and profiles
Beginners are recommended to first master printing with PLA and PETG, or ASA, and only then move on to PC Blend Carbon Fiber.
NFC Function
The spool is equipped with an NFC chip, which on compatible Original Prusa printers enables:
- automatic identification of the material type
- loading of recommended print profiles
- more convenient filament inventory management
