Product description

Prusament ASA Prusa Pro Green 800g (NFC)

Prusament ASA Prusa Pro Green 800g (NFC) is a premium ASA filament developed and manufactured in-house at Prusa Research. ASA is a technical material similar to ABS, but with better UV stability, lower shrinkage, and a less pronounced odor during printing. Combined with the precise manufacturing of Prusament, you get a reliable filament for demanding technical and outdoor applications.

Compared to the older ASA spools, Prusament now comes in a weight of 800 g and on a new smart spool with an NFC tag according to the open OpenPrintTag standard, which is ready for modern 3D printing ecosystems.

Main advantages of ASA Prusa Pro Green

  • Excellent for outdoor use – high UV stability, suitable for parts exposed to sunlight.
  • High heat resistance – no visible deformation up to approx. 93 °C.
  • Technical material with good toughness – ideal for functional prototypes, mounts, covers, jigs, and parts for demanding environments.
  • Lower shrinkage than ABS – reduced risk of warping, especially when combined with a printer enclosure.
  • Dimensional accuracy ±0.04 mm – consistent filament diameter and repeatable results.
  • Smooth surface and details without significant stringing – clean prints with easy post-processing.
  • Can be smoothed with acetone vapor – to achieve a smooth, almost glossy surface.
  • Good sandability and the option of further machining.
  • Integrated NFC tag (OpenPrintTag) – the spool stores important information about the filament, easy material identification in compatible systems.

The color shade Prusa Pro Green is a rich, vivid “Prusa” green, suitable both for technical parts and for design elements and prototypes.

Recommended applications

Prusament ASA Prusa Pro Green is an excellent choice for:

  • Functional parts and prototypes exposed to mechanical stress.
  • Outdoor components – brackets, covers, boxes, parts of irrigation systems, garden accessories.
  • Automotive and hobby parts – sensor mounts, consoles, vehicle accessories, RC models.
  • Technical and industrial applications where a combination of toughness, stability, and weather resistance is required.

Printing recommendations

For best results, it is recommended to use:

  • Nozzle temperature: approx. 260 ± 5 °C
  • Bed temperature: approx. 110 ± 5 °C
  • Recommended print surface: satin (textured) PEI sheet or a well-prepared smooth sheet.

Printing tips:

  • For larger models, use an enclosure (printer cover) – it minimizes drafts and reduces deformation (warping).
  • Ensure good room ventilation, but avoid a directed draft blowing directly on the print.
  • If you experience bed adhesion issues, a larger brim/skirt or a special adhesive can help.
  • ASA is slightly hygroscopic – store the spool in a dry environment and dry it before printing if necessary.

Safety and handling

  • The material contains styrene – potentially harmful fumes are generated during printing.
  • Print in a well-ventilated room and avoid directly inhaling the fumes.
  • When smoothing with acetone, work only in a well-ventilated area and follow safety guidelines for working with solvents.
