Product description
Prusament ASA Olive Green 800g (NFC)
Prusament ASA Olive Green is a premium ASA filament developed and manufactured by Prusa Research / Prusa Polymers. ASA is a modern successor to ABS that retains high strength, toughness, and heat resistance, but also adds excellent UV stability and lower shrinkage. This makes it ideal for functional and structural parts that must withstand sunlight, weathering, and higher temperatures in the long term.
The Olive Green shade is a muted, technical-looking olive green color suitable for outdoor and industrial parts, mockups, fixtures, and design models where you want subtle colors but still clearly readable details.
Key material properties
- ASA – technical material similar to ABS, but with better UV stability and lower shrinkage
- Excellent weather resistance – suitable for parts permanently placed outdoors
- High heat resistance – without visible deformation up to approximately 93 °C
- Very good mechanical strength and toughness
- Lower odor during printing than classic ABS
- Possibility of smoothing with acetone vapors and good sandability
- Suitable for precise technical and mechanically stressed parts
- Recommended to print in a closed print chamber to limit deformation and vapor emissions
NFC Spool and OpenPrintTag
This variant contains 800 g of filament on a new generation of spools with an OpenPrintTag NFC tag:
- Fully rewritable NFC tag according to the OpenPrintTag open standard
- Automatic loading of spool information in compatible printers or mobile applications (material type, color, recommended temperatures, etc.)
- Facilitates filament inventory management and speeds up print setup
- Redesigned spool with easy disassembly and reassembly, also suitable for filament drying
Recommended Use
Prusament ASA Olive Green is particularly suitable for:
- Outdoor parts and components – covers, brackets, boxes, plugs, sensor holders
- Automotive and mechanical applications – fixtures, clamps, technical covers, assembly aids
- Parts exposed to heat – around motors, electronics, lighting (within plastic limits)
- Design and functional models – prototypes, functional prototypes, mockups, outdoor equipment
- Spare parts for home and industry that need a combination of strength and UV resistance
Recommended Print Settings (approximate)
Specific values may vary slightly depending on the printer and conditions; we always recommend using the official Prusament ASA profiles for your printer.
- Nozzle temperature: approx. 260 ± 5 °C
- Bed temperature: approx. 110 ± 5 °C
- Recommended print surface: satin / textured PEI sheet, or glass with a suitable adhesive agent
- Part cooling: low (approx. 30%) or according to the official profile, rather limited for larger parts
- Recommended:
- closed printer / enclosure to reduce warping
- quality ventilation / air filtration due to fumes (ASA contains styrene)
Advantages of Prusament
- Very precise filament diameter with a tight tolerance, suitable even for precise technical parts
- Each spool is manufactured and inspected on Prusa Research's own lines
- Emphasis on repeatable quality, consistent color, and winding of the filament
- Fully traceable production thanks to detailed data on each spool
