Candour PLA Basic Light Grey is a high-quality PLA filament in light gray color, made from the same material and with the same color formula as Bambu Lab PLA Basic Light Gray. Thanks to this, you get a proven material with excellent printability and stable quality, but on a standard Candour spool without an NFC chip.

Relation to Bambu Lab filaments

• The material and color of Candour PLA Basic Light Grey are based on Bambu Lab PLA Basic Light Gray (same manufacturer, same raw material).
• Unlike original Bambu Lab spools, the Candour spool does not contain an NFC/RFID tag – the printer will not recognize it automatically.
• Candour spools have a different design and dimensions, therefore they are not intended as refills for original Bambu Lab spools (they cannot be fitted as a direct replacement for Bambu refills).
• For illustrative product photos, you can use images of Bambu Lab PLA Basic Light Gray filaments because the color shade and material are identical.

Recommended printing parameters

Parameters are based on official Bambu PLA Basic technical data and are suitable for most FDM printers:

• Nozzle temperature: approx. 190–230 °C
• Bed temperature: approx. 35–60 °C
• Printing speed: commonly 50–200 mm/s (depending on printer capabilities)
• Fan: 50–100 % (for better details and overhangs)

Before the first print, we recommend:

• verifying the diameter and filament path in the feeder,
• running a calibration print to find the optimal temperature and speed for your specific printer,
• using a suitable surface (textured PEI, smooth PEI, glass with adhesive, etc.).

Applications

The light gray shade is extremely versatile and suitable for:

• functional prototypes and mechanical parts,
• technical and structural models,
• design and architectural mock-ups,
• electronics enclosures and printer accessories,
• figures, models, and parts intended for further surface treatment (sanding, filling, painting).

PLA Basic Material Properties

• Material: PLA (polylactic acid)
• Filament diameter: 1,75 mm (high precision ±0,03 mm according to the Bambu PLA Basic technical sheet)
• Low shrinkage – minimal deformation, suitable even for larger parts.
• Good stiffness and tensile strength – ideal for most common applications.
• Lower heat resistance than PETG/ABS – not recommended for parts exposed to temperatures above approx. 50–55 °C.

Compatibility

Candour PLA Basic Light Grey is suitable for the vast majority of FDM/FFF printers:

• Bambu Lab (P1P, P1S, X1, X1C, A1, A1 mini – parameters must be entered manually, the printer does not read NFC),
• Prusa, Creality, Anycubic, Sovol, Artillery, Voron and other FDM machines supporting PLA,
• compatible with AMS and similar multi-material feeders if they are set for PLA 1,75 mm.

Storage and Filament Care

• Keep dry (ideally in a resealable bag with desiccant).
• Protect from direct sunlight and high temperatures.
• During a longer break in printing, we recommend removing the filament from the nozzle and storing it back in the packaging.
