Product description
Candour PETG Wood 1kg
Candour PETG Wood is a high-quality PETG filament with a wood-like appearance, produced by the same manufacturer and from the same material and color masterbatch as Bambu Lab PETG Wood. Thanks to this, you get practically the same printing result – only on a different spool and without an NFC chip.
The filament combines the strength and thermal resistance of PETG with an attractive "wood" look, which is perfectly suited for decorations, design accessories, mock-ups, furniture models, architectural models, and other projects where you want a wood-inspired look but with the mechanical properties of a technical plastic.
Spool and NFC notice:- Material and color are identical to Bambu Lab PETG Wood.
- The Candour spool does not contain an NFC tag – Bambu Lab printers will recognize the filament as "Generic".
- The Candour spool has a different design than the original Bambu Lab spool and cannot be used as a refill.
Main benefits of PETG Wood
- More durable than PLA, easier than ABS PETG combines good strength, toughness, and higher thermal resistance, yet it prints almost as easily as PLA.
- Aesthetic „wood“ look The additive and pigmentation to imitate wood create a pleasant, muted shade suitable for interiors. The surface masks layers better than purely glossy materials and is suitable for visible parts and decorations.
- Identical material to Bambu Lab PETG Wood Thanks to the same recipe as the Bambu Lab PETG Basic/wood series, you can use existing profiles for PETG Bambu Lab in Bambu Studio / OrcaSlicer as a default setting and just fine-tune the temperatures according to the printer.
- Stable dimensions and good layer adhesion PETG generally suffers less from warping than ABS, adheres well to common surfaces (textured PEI, satin, glass with a suitable separator), and creates strong bonds between layers.
Recommended use
Candour PETG Wood is particularly suitable for:
- decorative items with a „wooden“ character
- home and office accessories
- prototypes of design products and ergonomic shapes
- furniture models, interiors, architectural models
- boxes, stands, holders, logos, and signs with a natural look
For functional parts exposed to higher loads or temperatures, PETG is generally more suitable than PLA, though keep in mind that the „wood“ look is primarily an aesthetic modification.
Printing recommendations
Specific values may vary slightly depending on the printer, nozzle, and environment; parameters similar to Bambu Lab PETG prove to be successful as a starting point:
- Filament diameter: 1,75 mm
- Nozzle temperature: approx. 230–250 °C
- Bed temperature: approx. 70–80 °C
- Printing speed: 40–80 mm/s (can be more on Bambu and other fast printers, depending on the profile)
- Cooling: medium (lower than for PLA)
- Chamber: enclosed is not necessary, but helps stability in colder environments
For printing appearance parts, we recommend lower layer height (0,16–0,2 mm) and a slightly reduced speed for the finest possible surface.
Compatibility with Bambu Lab printers
- The material is identical to Bambu Lab PETG Wood, so the Bambu PETG profile can be used (e.g., PETG Basic/HF) as a base and possibly fine-tune the temperature and flow.
- Due to the absence of an NFC tag, the filament will be listed as "Generic" on Bambu printers and parameters must be selected manually or from a saved custom profile.
- The Candour spool differs in shape from original Bambu spools, therefore it cannot be used as a refill for the Bambu Lab reusable spool system.
Material properties (typical values for PETG)
- Material: PETG (polyethylene terephthalate glycol) in „Wood“ shade
- Diameter: 1,75 mm
- Recommended printing temperature: approx. 230–250 °C
- Recommended bed temperature: approx. 70–80 °C
- Filament weight: approx. 1 kg net
- Spool: plastic Candour, without NFC, cannot be used as refill for Bambu Lab
Specific mechanical values (tensile strength, elastic modulus, thermal resistance) are close to Bambu Lab PETG Basic – the filament is suitable for more durable yet still easily printable parts.
Why choose Candour PETG Wood
- you want to visually match projects with Bambu Lab materials but prefer a different spool or price level
- you are looking for a universal PETG filament with higher resistance than PLA and an attractive look
- you need material that works well on Bambu Lab and standard FDM printers
Candour PETG Wood brings the proven recipe and colors of Bambu Lab filament in combination with the Candour spool without an NFC tag – the ideal choice for everyday printing of design and decorative parts with a touch of natural wood.
